Our Forestry Industries are thriving now in the U.S. We have four timber mills within a 30 mile radius of our little town. They are running at full capacity. It is that way across all of the timber areas in our region.

What's your source about the price of lattes? If the price increase is that small, why have our wood imports from Canada dropped significantly? A small increase would imply a small reduction. We have increased our production a bit, and guess what? We've replaced Canadian imports with an increase in European imports.

If a latte is $7.50 you are talking about an additional $5400 over the life of a 30 yr mortgage in his scenario. You are forgetting the most important part though, numbers don't matter when defending trumps poor economic decisions.

Now do interest rates.
I priced my lattes at $13 because you libs need sustainably produced soy and ethically milled organic goat milk.
Should we get back to Biden and his double inflation? His disastrous policy on energy? Killing the Keystone XL? All those things will cost you more than $10k over 30
Years.
But it doesn't matter when you are focused on anything Orange Man touches is bad.
What a weakkneed argument.

Recall reading a paper some years ago now that we have more trees in this country than we ever have even compared to pre-industrial USA. One example is Dallas, TX. Built in the middle of the plains and something like 95% of the trees in DFW didn't show up until after turn of last century. They were all planted and what you have there now is outcome of non-native planted trees.

3.5. Market responsiveness
The scenarios reveal a fundamental difference in the nature of the two policy channels (Fig 5). The impact of tariffs on monthly payments attenuates substantiallydeclining by 36 % between the rigid and flexible market scenariosas capacity expansion and input substitution mitigate the initial shock. In contrast, the impact of a given mortgage rate is constant for the duration of a fixed-rate loan, absent refinancing. This persistence magnifies the relative importance of financing conditions in determining the total cost of homeownership. While tariffs create real cost pressures, their ultimate impact on the monthly financial obligation of homebuyers is dominated by the prevailing interest rate environment.

Its amazing how people cannot comprehend 2 things. The US has the biggest market countries want to export to.
2nd is the US orocides an incredible amount of security to the world and for trade.
All of that is changing. Frankly Trump should hold NATO up and simply state if you want our defensive umbrella trade will have to go in our favor. If the ball, even better, watch them try to stand up their own defenisve sectors and watch how their generous social networks crumble.
Its Win-Win for the US. They need us more than we need them.

A more plausible possibility: our own Trump Administration, which is the lyingest administration in U.S. history led by the lyingest and most corrupt President in U.S. history, is being dishonest.
Regardless of that, however, Canada is making a bold move by calling Trump's hand. Trump holds a strong bunch of cards thanks to his predecessors. This will be quite a poker game to watch.
