Oh I did too.

The corporate commercial was terrible. Michael's was definitely more entertaining and inspiring, in an overdramatic sort of way.

Great Episode. It is nice being back to 30 mins. Leaves you wanting more which is great... Love Dwight being back. Loved the commercial... Love Darrell on the keyboards...

I have an observation from MKF post...

quote:
I think the Jim/Pam thing was a misdirection from their standard type of scene. It showed: him being a strange kind of dork, her being momentarily annoyed at his priority of pranks over her serious work, and slight dysfunction when it came to her staying at work late, him leaving, and Pam forgetting that she was his ride.

I think it was a smart and unexpected view at more of what a normal relationship is like from time to time.

That is exactly what happened but (and I didn't think of this at the time) I am worried they might set it up where Pam takes Jim for granted in her new budding career in graphic design. I hope this doesn't happen but it might allow the writers to bring back that tension of PB&J but now in a break up light.

I agree about the commercial being great. Michael finally comes through with a real contribution to DM and corporate misses out.

sorry..
I meant trying to turn him into an "actor" on the show. He was at his best during the interview portions or making an off the cuff remark. That should be all he does.

Andy is becoming my favorite character. The scene when he is introduced to the commercial guys is classic Andy.

Also, the way he talks about Angela trips me out everytime.

"Dwike"

Loved it. Even better would have been "Dwigt", although I guess technically Dwight wouldn't have proposed that one since he was bummed when he saw that in Michael's screenplay.

I think the show is back on track now, esp after last weeks weird sidestep. Does anyone else think that Kevin is not that funny?

This is the best show on television.

I think Kevin is great in the role he plays...

Koolaide man was funny...

I also liked his "you're mama bear" line

love his facial expressions.

Finally , just watched it. Absolute best line, Michael's talking to ANDY and Meredith while filming the 'finish line' scene in the parking lot he says, "this needs to be a triumph... triumph of the will"

hilarious.

btw, this episode was written by Ryan.

yeah, considering ryan is one of the main writers of the show..i'm pretty sure he wont be writing himself out anytime soon.

i dont mind him. he's kind of the a-hole that we need VS all the characters we like.

another lil known sidenote/fact: they made Darryl's last name "Philben" as a tribute to Regis Philben. Regis' son in law is a writer also for the show.

And in Season 2, I believe, that spawned the fact that Michael occasionally called Daryl "Mr. Rogers", thanks to this progression of nicknames:

Regis (for his last name, Philbin) --> Reeg --> Rog --> Rogers --> Mr. Rogers

Agree and this is why I think this show is at its best in the 30 minute slot (with the 45min -1 hour show being more of a special occasion). They've got some great characters, but there is a fine line between a great bit character and crossing into OD'ing the audience on the character's wackiness.

I died when I heard Darryl's last name was Philbin. It's the most bizzare name someone like him could have.
