Michael is becoming too much of an idiot. His antics are getting on my nerves. I hope they tone down his character some next season or, to me, the show will become unwatchable.

She's actually a really hard worker and a great artist, but I would never say that to her face.

Why wouldn't you say that to her face Michael?

I am really hoping the writers/producers of The Office are just letting these rumors about a spin off float around to keep interest in the season finale - they're hinting Jim being an warning from Ryan and Pam looking at design schools...if they take one or both of them off of the show, what a way to ruin a great thing.

The spin-off is set to premiere after the Super Bowl, so they still have time next season to set that up. And I think they said that the spin-off would have new characters.

I'm in the same boat. There is a big difference in doing stupid things, and things that are so unbelievable and out there (driving the car into the water, what he did at the boss' house party) that it's really becoming a distraction.

Did anyone watch Jenna Fischer last night on Leno? She said that someone leaves the show in the finale. I don't know if this is old news or not... I just thought I'd post it.

last night sucked. between Andy being extra-retarded on the golf course and Michael being extra-retarded at the job fair, the entire episode OD'd on retardation.

FYI, Michael has been unwatchable since Season 1. However the episodes rarely focused on him and the smart, witty writing made up for his idiocracy so that you barely noticed it. However the writing has become lazy and trite and the writers are running out of ideas, so now Michael's idiocracy is more prevalent than ever.

Not their best efforts last night. I thought it was pretty obvious from the previews that Jim is going to propose to Pam. Or at least that's what they were leading us to think.

The real question is... who will Michael propose to when he goes off the deep end and tries to make it about himself?

His character is no longer even close to believable. Not to be a British Office snob, but they were able to get it right with the boss on that one. He was a subtle idiot, where you actually believed that he just might be that stupid while being completely unaware of his own stupidity. Michael Scott is just completely over the top now.

This version is ok, I hear alot of people talk about how great this show is, but it does'nt compare to the british version. David Brent is 10 times funnier than Micheal Scott.

I don't know what some of you are watching. Last night's episode was one of the best ever. I absolutely LOVED it.

Andy with his blistered hands was an absolute stroke of genius.

And as for Michael's over the top antics, I had the exact same thought last year, made an almost identical post about how it's almost unwatchable when he's that unrealistic. But this year I think he's been much better. The low point was definitely when he drove the car into the water. I HATED that. But since then, and especially since the strike, they've kept him under enough control to make it great.

I think maybe you picked an episode from Season 2 from your DVR and accidentely watched that one. NFW you saw the same show we did and thought "Last night's episode was one of the best ever."

last night's episode had just about everything that makes an office episode great.

by the way the episode where Michael drives into the water is fantastic if you understand Michael knew what he was doing when he did it. he was upset with things changing and using technology, so he showed what happens when you blindly follow technology.

I did. It was awesome. I was almost in tears laughing. The entire golf setting was perfect from start to finish, and the job fair was great too. I really can't find a single thing to criticize, except for maybe that they didn't give Dwight any funny lines that I can remember.

Kevin and Andy were as funny as they've ever been though, and Michael, Pam, Jim, Darrel, etc. were all great.

A different take on Michael Scott

I think Andy is my new favorite character. When he sadi I was up last night hitting 1200 balls I lost it. Then his blisters topped off a killer joke. Well done Andy, well done.

They need to tone it down with Michael like they did with Andy. I hated Andy at first when he was to over the top but since they backed him off a little bit hes been a lot better, they need to do the same with michael. And no, last nights episode wasnt very good.

Sometimes I wonder if Michael is really the smartest person working at the Dunder Mifflin. Yes, he's a moron, but his plans seem to work better than other's. Ryan's website is a failure, Michael "outsmarts" Stanley when he tries to quit, his commercial is better than corporates, etc. As much of a moron as Michael is, I think he's actually the smartest person at DM.

I've known salesmen who had off the wall personalities but were good at their jobs. They should never be close to upper management and I think that's true of Michael.

I think they write his character over the top sometimes, but I also think he is a very socially awkward and needy person. I think Michael is just a very lonely and helpless feeling guy. Rewatching the episode where he drove into the lake, I don't think he honestly thought that was the correct way to go. I think he was just so helpless in that moment he was going to do what he was told regardless of the consequences.

Michael is a sterotype of what happens in most sales organizations when the best sales guy is promoted into management.

Just because you're the best sales guy, doesn't mean you're the best manager.

They have to be leading up to something with Pam. It is unbelievable how much they sheet on that character.

I think that Pam will end up quitting in spectacular fashion and going to art school and Jim will get Ryan's job. Not a bold prediction, but that's where I see it going.

Michael was definitely over the top annoying last night.

Another thing that has annoyed me is that they haven't done very many shows within the actual office. That's what made the first 3 seasons great and they have gotten away from that for whatever reason.

Andy cracked me up though, especially because everyone has a hypercompetitive friend like that.

For those of you who have said that Michael has become unbelievably more stupid, do you not remember Diversity Day?

Diversity Day, Basketball, and Hot Girl are some of the most uncomfortable episodes to watch in the run of the show.

Michael hasn't gotten more stupid, he's just finding creative new ways to express his stupidity.

My bold prediction for next season...

With Jim closing the Big Sale, David Wallace will take notice, and promote him to a corporate job in NYC (maybe'e Ryan's job, due to the drug issues, website failure etc..) and Pam will then quit DM Scranton and go to art school in NYC to be with Jim. This will ultimately lead to the spinoff which is supposed to take place after the superbowl...
