I'm going to remove my hypothesis of Peter being Syler now; however, I still believe Peter will turn out to be the more evil of the brothers (it is just too obvious for his brother to become the "bad guy."

all i know is that this episode was supposed to answer questions and it did...only to give about 10 more new story lines
The end felt rushed, but other than that it was a great episode and nice seeing how Sylar was "born" - albeit, a little weak with his justification. Anyways...so who dies next week?

I'm a little confused about the dad again. He was already looking for people before Dr. Suresh contacted him. How did he know about them and why doesn't he just confront Claire?

So it seems Hiro’s powers are somewhat limited by what he can do to change the past. Even had he been able to save the waitress chick, she was going to die anyways. This begs the question to the reason he came back to Peter to save Claire?
The development of Sylar’s character is somewhat disturbing – especially on how his inner drive operates to become someone “important” and “special”. I wonder if he and Peter have similar powers – both are able to rely on others to give them powers. Peter wanting to be a hospice nurse and helping others seems to welcome the limitations of temporarily sucking other heroes’ powers. Gabriel on the other hand is driven to make himself the top dog and is not squeamish to meet his goals.

NBC has made a huge blunder in not realizing the need to replay each week's episodes for those of us in the remedial section.

So if one Hero is going to die next week, I'm betting on Silent Black Man.

Maybe save the cheerleader, save the world meant that if Sylar had killed the cheerleader, he would have become invincible because he could then recover from anything.
Niki's power is super strength. It just so happens that due to some abuse issues and possibly post traumatic stress or something after the death of her sister, she also has multiple personality disorder. Her extra personality mimic the personality of her dead sister. Niki, I'm sure will end up having the same powers as her double, but right now only the double has realized how to harness them. Everyone is still learning how to use their powers, some are mroe advanced than others, and since she has two personalities, one is more advnaced than the other in using her powers.

Theres really nothing supernatural about it, IMO. She has created the persona of her sister in her mind, its not really her ghost or something.

What I don't understand about Hiro is if he can't interfere with events, then why go back in time? Why come from the future to tell Peter to save the Cheerleader if he knows it will destroy the world if he doesn't? If he CAN alter events how come he can't save Charlie? Many Aneurysms are operable or treatable with drugs. Also if he can't use his powers to save Charlie then why can he use them to alter other events?
Although I like this show, but it seems a bit inconsistent.
Also, who or what is the fiery looking guy in the picture that Claire's dad says "this painting tells me nothing"? Is it a new hero or is it nuclear guy going thermonuclear?

so how is peter going to escape to cops? it is apparent that they are going to charge w/the muder of that other cheerleader chick.
i think peter's got sylar's power since he was laying there with him. and by sylar's power, i mean all the power sylar got from eating all the other people's magic brains. so now peter can just bust out, sylar-style.
Nikki/Jessica has been boring, and it's good to see others feel the same. She was the only actor I really knew going into the show, but is now the one I least enjoy (even moreso than Suresh).
I think Isaac is going to die, just because he's pretty much finished the paintings and hasn't contributed to the storyline much at all. Plus, if it is doomsday in New York, think back to when Hiro first visited there and we found Isaac dead and brainless. Thoughts?

Peter can only use others powers when he is near them right now, so he wouldn't be able to use all of Sylar's powers unless he figures out how to use the other powers when they are not around.
He has had several dreams where he was connected to someone because the things he dreamed happened in real life while he was dreaming it. If he can learn to think like that when he is awake, then he can use everyone's powers.

Maybe Hiro can't intefere with past events, but he can alert people in that particular period of time and they might be able to change things. So he can alert people who can prevent things from happening, but he can't affect them himself without causing a rift.
