The entire, amazing episode from 4/30 was filler. They took a break from regularly scheduled programming to show us a "possible future". This episode could have been a great full length feature film based on the shows characters and story. The only way it advances the plot is by making it known that they have to kill Syler. That poor actor.... he wins the lottery by being cast on the show, and gets killed off at the end of Season 1. Bummer, dude. Based on his looks, his career probably just peaked.
In the next 3 episodes, the heroes will come together and figure out a way to prevent the bomb in NY, but they won't form an X-Men-like team. That would be too obvious and too "comic book" for the audience.
Then the writers will begin reading every Frank Miller and Alan Moore comic book available to come up with a story this good for next season.
