Things like this amuse the hell out of me. This guy centers his article poking fun at A Game of Thrones fans because he assumes that the Stupid Ned Stark meme going around offends Thrones nerds. No guy, we know our "central character Ned" is a fool. It sounds like maybe we will be laughing at you, next week.

They could just as easily do a Catelyn Stark meme:

It will be awesome if Arya and Bran kill all the Lannister side including Sansa. Then join with Danaerys and wipeout the Others.

This episode was awesome! If you have the chance to re-read the books its great when you see the episodes later on.

Some of the moments, in particular Greajon's scene at the dinner are that much better on camera. Seeing Selmy get royally screwed and then tell them all off was also well done

I am a little hesitant on how they're going to portray the dragons and the direwolves throughout the rest of the series. The direwolves seem a little... runty in comparison to the books. They both need to be pulled off convincingly because although the series is "realistic" those two elements (especially the dragons) start to draw the fantasy of magic back into the world in a big way.

I am NOT looking forward to having to wait another year for next season though.

I AM looking forward to reading ADwD and preordering the Blurays for the 1st season though

On July 12th I will be flying out of Manas Kyrgzstan to Baltimore ending a 12 month deployment to Afghanistan.

The last thing I do before I leave will be downloading it onto my Kindle, carrying a large number of Rip Its onto the plane, and read for the next 20 hours.

i won't get to see this episode until next week, so please clarify a plot point for me since the spy-bridge thing is new. What happened to Walder Frey and the Twins?

I would guess the Twins and Walder Frey would be in next episode. It will be interesting to see how they portray Cat since originally they made not such a stupid "B" but she does seems to be sliding into that role.

They talked about them at the end of this episode, saying they'd have to go through their lands to get to the Trident. Like the previous poster said, I bet he's in the next one

Frey has been cast, and the episode summaries for next week talk about a "negotiation" for Robb.

OK, good. Did the spy-bridge addition replace the scene in the book where Cat was advising Robb on tactics?

You guys know that the "bridge" is the twins and was in the book right?

If you remember episode 1, a large elk was found dead and the Starks continue looking and they find the body of a dire wolf mother about the same size of the elk. There were 6 dire pups (one for each Stark and the runt for snow) and the wolves you have seen are still very young. At some point I think Ned mentions how fast they are growing, one episode they were pups next there were the size of normal wolves, I expect adulthood should make them at least the size of Great Danes.

Looks like we're going to have to wait to see what Howland Reed knows. He's the only one left who was there.

Not a big fan of Tyrion's battle at Green Fork. Would have been a great preview of his battle command skills that you will see later in Blackwater.

I thought Ned's death was well done.

The reaction was actually less than I expected. The Red Wedding will cause an uproar, though, if they get that far.

I thought it interesting that they left out the part about Tywin making Tyrion bang Tysha last and then give her a gold coin.

I figiured they would have used that to emphasize what a real ******* Tywin is.

That is one thing I like about GRRM's writing, he really gives the characters depth (or at least the bad ones) to the point that you actually become invested in them no matter how many reprehensible things they've done. Jaime threw a kid out of a window at the beginning of GoT, and by Storm of Swords he was my favorite character. I was legitimately angry when Tyrion found his hoor girlfriend in bed with Tywin. Like WTF GRRM angry. For an evil little ******* like Tyrion, I still wanted him to have a happy ending (lol hooker pun).

Evil is maybe strong. He is a Lannister and he clearly is intended to have a somewhat ambiguous sense of morality. My point is that while I am sure he would make some choices I would not, I find myself rooting for him anyway.

While there are a lot of bad people in SOIAF, "evil" probably only describes a handful of them, like Gregor Clegane and Biter.
