I actually thought the bet moment of the show was the last scene prior to the last commercial break... the plain jane huge dot-matrix banner that simply read "IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY".

I found the episode entertaining. Greatest episode ever? no. But Jeebus people, it wasn't that bad.

The episode was like most of the one hour ones before this season (as it really was a one hour chopped in half), starts off funny and not enough content to make it the full hour. Was a huge letdown as the first half from last week was hilarious, I didn't laugh once last night and was rather bored. I will admit, I hate the super awkward over the top Michael, I just don't find it funny.

The whole thing with Angela was way out of character and seemed a stretch. The cat thing with the nanny-cam was slightly humorous, but was a stretch having Angela so cheery and actually talking.

I think they're trying to show that Angela's gone off the deep end after what happened with Dwight/Andy. She's become the "Cat Lady."

FTR I love The Office, but Lecture Circuit was so horribly done and such a dissapointment I felt robbed. I will say it would probably be impossible to live up to, because the one of the all time greatest sitcom moments came from the British version of this exact same episode.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately, I had huge expectations for the lecture circuit because of what happened in the British version, and that probably isn't fair.

I never watched the British version, but even without that comparison, it sure seems like they completely botched the potential it had by taking it way too over-the-top with nutso Michael.

February Sweeps got moved to March because of the "Digital TV Transition" that was supposed to be in Feb , but was then moved by Obama because Sr. Citizens all over the country (who are the only people left not receiving their TV over some form of HD/digital transmission already) are now too poor to afford a $20 coversion box for their 1950's model TV because their 401K was wiped out.

So, NBC didn't air any new episodes, saving them up for the new March sweeps, and we haven't seen a new episode in a month, which is why we are watching an episode about V-Day several weeks after the fact.

Human nature. Mix a show with different nuances to it with general d*****baggery (that comes out of people determining what is and is not funny) and you get this.

Also, considering the popularity of the show, there also the "sequel" effect where because the bar has been set so high with previous episodes (and everyone has their favorite...to which they measure all other episodes against) that pretty much anything the writers do is destined to be "weak" in someone's eyes.

I thought last nights was very funny, I too laughed out loud at lead 7-8 times. It was a very subtle humor, but back to basics IMO...I have no idea why so many of you seem to hate it every week. Last night was excellent.

stanley and phyliss trying to get the cookies
michael back to his less over-the-top, more true to character
dwights odd comments here and there, the ***** thing, when he was talking to the blond girl, etc.
kevin was very fuuny, even kelly was funny
the lunch was funny too..


wow, not sure what ya'll want. was it as good as The Dundies or Booze Cruise, no, but I thought it was one of the best this year.

I thought it was a really good episode. Michael was toned down a little bit from recent episodes, making him more believable and less uncomfortable.

Best line: "I was so nervous about giving blood, I didn't eat for like three days.
" (then pass out)
