Nard-dog was great. And Stanely wingmaning for Andy. Creed of course rocked it. And Michael on the PA system in the office.

I'd rather light a candle than curse your darkness

i thought the half blown up balloons hung by toilet paper were hilarious. I don't think his lungs were strong enough to blow them up all the way.

lots of painfully awkward hilarious moments last night:
andy's kiss attempt
michael with pam/karen (multiple times)
michael's pneumonic memory device (shirty, black lady, mexico)

although i wonder about the sugarboobs line. i have to think they wanted to use sugartits but got shot down by the censors.

Humbert...that's what made it even funnier for me. I mean, who says sugarboobs?

I liked the episode, but wish they hadn't previewed Karen being pregnant. I think seeing her and then Michael's line would have been a lot funnier if I hadn't known it was coming.

I saw no preview so I was shocked.

Awesome episode. I hope Holly is pregnant too or at least with someone else.

Agreed. The impact of that scene would have been much greater without the preview.

thursdays episode was probably the best of the season, and may be in my top 5 episodes of the entire series.

Any chance Holly becomes a series regular again, with Michael going to see her? Not saying I WANT that to happen, but kind of wonder which direction they'll take that story.

Also, is Jan gone forever?

anyone else think Michael skipping the meeting and going on corporate's dime to **EDIT** NASHUA is going to put him on probation or something?

It's funny...as much as Jim seems normal and makes fun of Michael, he is starting to fit the mold of a future Michael(goof off regional manager who struggles to take things seriously) as he just does so much random nonsense and forgets things(kelly's bday).

I could see Michael leaving and Jim taking over as regional manager of The Office if the show went on further into the future. However, most of that would depend on whether Carell wants out and krasinski wants to stay on and make this show his legacy as an actor.

who knows...but I doubt this trip to **EDIT** nashua will go unpunished.

**EDIT** i'm an idiot and for some reason thought nashville when i was watchin the other day.

The producers would have loved to turn Amy Ryan into a regular. She's too successful in movies to lock into a full-time TV contract though (nominated for an Oscar last year for Gone Baby Gone, has upcoming films with Matt Damon and Phillip Seymour Hoffman). So we will only see her sporadically from here out.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Melora Hardin would probably love to return as Jan. The writers completely assasinated her character, to a point that they can't really bring her back. It was all well worth it, because "The Dinner Party" may be the series best episode (I know there are some haters here because of the awkwardness, but that ep has a cult following that thinks it's the best). But after that episode, there was no real way to keep the character on the canvas. She will probably show up sporadically as well, but it would be a stretch for her to return in a full time capacity. In a show full of over-the-top characters, they took hers way too far over the top and killed it.

Yes! I was wondering where he got Tennessee from as well. Aren't all Dunder Mifflin branches were in the Northeast?

He's not going to Tennessee, he's going to Nashua, New Hampshire.

There was an episode that touched on this a while back, I think it was the "Survivor Man" episode where Michael went to the wilderness and left Jim in charge. Jim ticked everyone off by trying to combine three or four birthday parties into one and Michael had to put out the fire when he got back, and then the episode ended with Michael sitting next to Jim in the conference room giving him pointers about management, while Jim had this sick realization that he was turning into the next Michael.

Yes they are. Mose is just an all-around legend: not only is he a phenomenal minor character on The Office, he was (until he retired) the greatest baseball blogger on the entire internet.

I thought this week's episode was pretty good, but I honestly can't fathom how someone could think this episode was great and the Super Bowl episode was "meh". I thought the SB episode was GREAT, but it's the same format and sense of humor as this week's. Different jokes, but the same type of show. I often wonder if people let there personal mood at the time of watching affect their criticism of an episode.

It's true that this show gets *****ed about more than any other around here. Every single freaking episode is either labeled as "one of the best ever" or "one of the worst ever- I am going to stop watching this show if they don't get funnier." There are rarely "that episode was decent" comments.

There are quite a few that would rather look for/complain about things that weren't funny, rather than enjoy the show. The same phenomenon hit Lost a couple of years ago. People eventually lost interest in continually bashing it. Curious to see if that happens here.

I've enjoyed it much more the past few eps, back to basics...all the subtle things are fantastic and Creed, Kelly and Kevin keep up with their zingers and one-liners, they are fantastic.

This show gets better the more you watch it. I record the 2 reruns on TBS each week and find every old episode hilarious. I'm sure there are a few of those old episodes that I didn't think were funny the first time around.
Worm01
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have never seen an episode and thought it "wasn't funny". I have seen episodes and thought it wasn't AS FUNNY as other, but have never watched one and not laughed atleast a few times.

I'm sure there are people with a different sense of humor who don't find it funny, and that's fine. What I DON'T understand is people saying some episodes are awesome and some are horrible. It basically follows the same format and the same "type" of humor every episode. I just don't see one person having such a drastic swing in their opinion of it from week to week.

An Office episode really needs to be watched 2-3 times to catch all the jokes and get all the hilarity.

Case in point: I was re-watching part of the post-Super Bowl episode before class this morning. I had to rewind three times to laugh at something I didn't catch before, when Wallace says "it cost us $3,500" and Michael responds "that dummy cost $5,300??", Wallace gives him an amazing "WTF?" look.

Maybe you're just really slow. Or need to pay closer attention when watching the first time. That wasn't a very subtle moment.

I was speaking to Wallace's facial expression, not the $3,500/$5,300 part. You're right, the latter wasn't exactly subtle. But Wallace's face really needs to be watched a few times, because the look on it is absolutely classic.

Or just mabye something distracted him or her. I didn't even see half the jokes the first time, probably because I busy with something else.

it was funny, but it is the same face wallace makes every time he is dealing with michael.
