I was at Costco last week waiting to get my El Tiempo gift cards from the front and there was an Indian family trying to buy five gold bars and the mom was on the phone with the bank because they wouldn't approve the transaction. I was doing work on a hotdog when they completed the purchase and casually strolled out the front with the young boy playing with the box for everyone to see. If I just bought five gold bars I would be a little less conspicuous.

I don't think stickup men have Costco memberships

When the stock market takes a dump, which I think it will, and hedges start selling their paper silver to cover margins or sour earnings, anyone think we see silver spot go back to $18-19 per oz for a time?

So this is a chart I'm watching very carefully. It's a relationship chart between SLV and SPX. We are potentially on the cusp of an explosion in silver's outperformance of equities. This can happen in 4 ways..

1. Silver rockets and SPX stays flat
2. SPX goes up and silver goes up MUCH faster.
3. Silver is flat while SPX tanks.
4. Both go down but SPX crashes while silver falls at a lesser pace.

For me to believe that silver, and metals in general, would crash to $18-$19, Id have to see this chart break below the lower red line which was a 61.8% golden ratio retracement of the previous move up. We are so conditioned to think that everything is related and moves in unison. But if you go back to period of major moves in silver, they are often at times when SPX is very weak. So as long as this chart is bullish, I'm long silver.

Is anyone interested in a 2013 1 oz gold Perth mint lunar year of the snake coin? I am going to my LCS tomorrow to sell it but I figured I'd ask here first. See example coin. If interested I can send pics of actual coin.

Sell it to an individual - if possible. Otherwise, Uncle Sam will have his hand in your wallet for capital gains. LCS has to keep records.

How does one go about finding such individuals and selling to them without leaving a paper trail?

I would report it anyway. You can go to jail for not reporting income. Taking unwarranted deductions is a different story. I'm not a tax expert or CPA so I invite them to chime in if I'm wrong.

I have had pretty good luck buying off Reddit r/Pmsforsale. It is not without risk but you can see how many transactions someone has completed and the mods do a good job of keeping scams out.

What kind of horse hockey is this??

First of all, it's none of Uncle Sam's damn business. You make it his business when you sell your PM's to an LCS. By law, LCS has to report business transactions.

What business you conduct with family, friends, acquaintances is strictly at your discretion. Be smart, use some common sense, and stop placing blind trust in these insitutions who are robbing you daily through inflation. We're taxed enough!!

I ended up not selling at the LCS. He also said that only a few scenarios require him to report. For most people, the transactions he does he does not report because they are not over the threshold. He has to report any transaction over $10,000 and he said he does not do any single transactions over that so he doesn't report. A couple of other weird ones like selling (25) or over of either krugerrand, maple or Mexican onza he has to report.

Gold moving higher. I'd sure like to see it finish above $2700 going into the weekend.

Well, unless something crazy happens today, we're headed into the weekend with gold at ATH and silver above $32.

Question about ASE sales for the stackers…my wife has been having some health issues and I want to pay off some bills. Where is the best place near College Station to get reasonable value for them? I have a decent amount that I'm looking to sell. What is a reasonable price per with silver at $34?

I may be interested depending on quantity/quality. I'm sure we could come up with a fair price. I'm on the west side of Houston.

I was going to buy an oz of gold this month, but decided to finish a few short tubes of silver. Y'all can go ahead and place your shorts now.

Well, I think I understand why silver shot up on Friday. The DXY poked it's head above the RSI. That's a pretty solid sign that US dollar strength is headed south, while commodities such as gold and silver move north. Unfortunately, it won't be good for the stock market or consumers. A weak dollar usually means less growth and more inflation.

I'm interested to see what happens this week with institutional gold and silver shorts - JPM and Citi with the lion's share.

Has anyone had success trading silver for an equivalent amount of gold (small markup) with a dealer? What about trading down AGEs for smaller fractional AGEs?

I didn't need technical analysis to tell me to buy precious metals. The system is a house of cards. With continued war, BRICS and spending, it's only going to go up.

To the Keynesians: no. I'm not selling to you.
Well…you sounded taller on radio.

Just FYI, if you declare it on your federal tax return, trading for different metals is taxable if you come out ahead. Trading for like metal is not.

I'm glad I found this thread! I first bought silver in 6/23 based on a link from Red Pear. 100 oz RCM bar.

I paid $2601. SD has it today for $3,712.

I went a little metal crazy after that as prices dropped. Silver and gold... there's just something about holding in your hand.

My wife thought I was nuts at the time. Been a fun year!
