The entire AL West is now under .500, what a joke of a division:

Athletics -- Kinda bad, but at least somewhat entertaining
Mariners -- Underperforming as they nearly always do. Maybe they get it figured out?
Rangers -- Franchise seems to be running into Zombie mode, old but without great trade pieces and a bad farm system
Astros -- Very similar to the Rangers, but with a worse combo of front office/owner/farm system.
Angels -- Terrible and horribly run. In a death spiral.

I guess I'll have to get my fix of "good baseball" by catching as many Braves games as I can this season.

The defense has been so bad and the approach at the plate has not been what we were told it would be. I'd have no problem if this was his one and only year here.

Either his message does not get through to the players, or he's just terrible at getting them prepared.

My only visit to Coors Field, it was 38 degrees and raining. If you've never been, you should go if you have some warm clothes. I'd go again in the same weather in a heartbeat.

Especially with the Rangers in town. I had to watch the Pirates play.

I think one tends to over-manage when you have a non-performing roster. CY has done a great job of turning a WS championship team into a collection of below average players.

lets not pretend that roster was world beaters. they came together and played way over their heads and got really hot in the playoffs. that was a fun team but the pieces of that team have proved to be something less than what they were that year

Yeah it's going to be interesting to read the book on that season 10 years later and see how many key guys did nothing after. I mean Dane Dunning was the best pitcher on the staff for a lot of the second half.

Not to be Negative Nancy, but we are playing one of the worst teams in baseball and also playing at altitude (Denver). We are supposed to be scoring runs.

But it is encouraging to see it actually happen, that's for sure.
