Meh. The team has far exceeded my expectations so far. The first month of the season was a brutal stretch and they're battling for the top of the division. If we can get some health luck this team should be right there in October.

Obviously easy for us to say as a spectator, but man Woo is not throwing strikes. If our guys could just take pitches, we'd probably have about 6-7 walks by now.
Pretty tired of having to face teams with loaded staffs. Day to forget for Gore too.

Missed the replay, did it show Nimmo calling him off? Looked like Smith didn't hear him until the very last moment.

General rule on those fly balls is it's easier for the right fielder coming in than it is the second baseman going out for an over the shoulder catch. That's Nimmo's ball the way and a pretty routine fly ball at that.
Completely agree, at the same time Smith needs to hear Nimmo calling him off early. Hard to blame Smith continuing to go back if he doesn't hear a call.

Outfielders always have right of way over infielders on fly balls. But they need to know for sure they're gonna get it.
Is there any plausible reason why we didn't pinch run for Pederson in T7 once he reached on HBP? With 2 outs and running on contact, there is no reason someone couldn't score from first on Carter's 2B off the wall. That would have made it 5-3.

I agree, not bad overall. Oakland did slip back into first place last night. But there were various articles about the tough stretch of the first 30 or so games to start the season, then the schedule gets more manageable. Josh Jung showing signs of life the past week has been good to see.

Agreed. My only issue at the moment is 2B. Smith is not doing well. Zeke is not the long term answer either.
I imagine Freeman will get some time when he's back from injury, unless Smith or Duran are red hot at that point

Smith is a utility IF and not an every day player. I did some digging on his charts last season, and he has some huge holes that are easy to pitch to. He's had a nice career so far, but it's peaked as the book on him is out. My opinion, of course.

There is some Rangers Fan account that tweets about him almost daily. If the stats they post about Smith are true, then he's in the bottom quartile of offensive players in the league and also one of the worst defensive players.

I think Freeman is supposed to be ready sometime early to mid May, if I recall correctly.
