OAK got into the HOU pen in the 3rd, after HOU burned a ton of arms last night. Their staff is in no better shape than ours.

Hopefully we don't have the same record as the Astros and not make it. That would be a particularly brutal way to go out.

A guy who had struck out in almost 50% of his 40 at bats this year. Who had one extra base hit in those limited at bats. Somehow hits 3 homers and drives in 5 to save the Astros season.

Bit too early to say he saved their season because we have to go on the road where we have sucked to play a team who can really pound the ball and has already pounded our brains out in arlington.

But yeah it sucks because we still don't control our own fate. The magic number is still 4.

I'd say it's highly unlikely both teams win out, but it's possible.

I mean the Astros won 7-5 and their major league players only put up only 2 RBI. The A's almost hit a few more out. I'm guessing the A's at least get 1 if not 2, but the rangers gotta do well against the Twinkies.

So im gonna get ridiculed by the usuals here because im not pumping sunshine, but Ive recently learned thru here players not on the 40 will play next season no matter the MLB labor situation.
E. Carter needs to be removed from 40 man….no place on a team for a .190 BA, designated bunter full time CF. Langford potentially also, these guys need to hit every day
If the labor situation resolves add them back.

Not a good idea. They would have to clear waivers in order for that to happen. Neither one of them would and we would get nothing for them.

Well, swing of emotions over 24 hours when waking up. Had hoped the as could hold on but not shocked they didn't. As I said, we'll be lucky if they win one

Based on the last series with Minnesota, looks like the key to beating them is not giving up 3+ runs in the first inning

I like it. It's all hands on deck the next three games with the playoffs in the line.

Irregardless of the outcome this weekend, yes Skip has really infuriated me with his moves and also with the lack of fundamental baseball, but I also realize that he will be here next season no matter what. I do believe he will learn from the mistakes this year which will make this team better next season.

My hope is that we win the west. If not that when he reviews this season he makes the improvements needed for next season, mainly defense and base running.

Twins aren't going to lay down for us. They played spoiler for us last year and they have a chance to do it again this year. The next three games are going to take the most complete team effort we've seen all season:

-good pitching
-clean defense
-situational hitting
-sound base running fundamentals

It's there for us. Time to go take it.

And we need the A's to help us at least once.
