Yep. Feels like those guys will figure it out. Meanwhile Josh Smith is also in that group, and Evan Carter isn't far from it.
I don't have much concern with Seager. He's an all-star caliber MLB veteran. Although he is "whiffing" a lot right now, he'll get it going.
Langford I have more concerns with, though. For starters we have never really seen him do it outside of a few weeks or month here or there. Yeah that's nice, but we need him to be able to do it for two and three months at a time. He needs to have sustained stretches of good baseball.
Additionally, some of his advanced metrics are still not great. He's not walking almost at all, his expected numbers are all pretty low, and perhaps the most concerning metric is he hasn't been able to figure out is Launch Angle. Last year was better in this regards, but he's back to his year one numbers so far.
His LA Sweet Spot% is 13th percentile, meaning when he hits a ball really well, the launch angle of those balls fall predominantly outside of 8 to 32 degrees. He's struggled with this two out of his three or so years in the big leagues. Need to get him walking more first, and then need to get his launch angle back to even, so-to-speak.

I think Smith will adjust and get back to hitting. Carter will get better. Biggest thing with him is the walks and working the counts. Which is something that I fully think Smith is struggling with.
This is an interesting breakdown and a little concerning
My opinion on Smith is he now an everyday 2nd baseman and has put defense as his top priority at the beginning of the season. His bat will come around.
Very early obviously, but our team OPS+ is sitting at 108. After the last two years I'll take that - especially having played SEA, LAD, and Jeffrey Springs/Cristian Sanchez so far.

Saw a tweet yesterday about Josh Smith that said he's also quite poor defensively at second. He has negative range and is a -1.1 in defensive runs saved. So he may be poor offensively, but he doesn't play a good 2B.
And offensively, it's not like he is hitting the ball hard and getting unlucky. His expected BA and hard hit rate are all below average, even though his actual numbers are still worse than the expected numbers.

Give or take yes. .800 OPS is deemed good, .750 average, and .700 or below, poor.

Agreed! They are very easy to understand and relate to a more total offensive game than 15 more arbitrary numbers.
If we don't make another postseason run with this generation it's going to be because of Jung & Langford not being the All Star caliber players they were supposed to be when we drafted them so high
My concerns about Langford are....well documented on this board. But I sincerely do hope he can get it going; it's just odd to me that he'll tear it up in spring (has done so multiple times) and then look totally inept once the season starts.
If I'm being honest, it bugs me to see other stud prospects come up and roar out of the gate while Langford has had flashes but has not yet been the guy that you think "yeah, he's the future cornerstone". He's so talented but it's like he's a half beat off. And with him and Seager both struggling it drops the lineup way down performance wise from where they should be.
