I feel this clip of Seinfeld where Jerry and Jack Klompus argue about who takes the pen is a perfect representation of the AL West this year. Replace pen with "division title".

Which of us is Jerry or Jack is yet to be decided.

As a Rangers fan, I'm conditioned to expect the worst. And this has been the most Ranger season ever, where we can't beat terrible AL West teams, but have held our own against the rest of the league. If we are anywhere close to .500 this year against the AL West, we are already division champs with the two seed wrapped up.

Houston, if you didn't have the Rangers to dominate, you guys are probably about 10 games under, fired your manager, and started the rebuild. So, I'll just say, "You're welcome!!"

Well I don't see either of these teams doing much in the playoffs … so who ever wins, have some beers and hope for the best in the playoffs … as an Astros fan I'm not holding my breath and I'm certainly not buying a bunch of Matress Mack furniture hoping to get it free if they win it all…lol

either team could win the wild card and did divisional round. the white Sox and guardians aren't exactly juggernauts.

I think I'm at a point where I want Houston to not win the division more than I care about Texas winning it.

Building a roster with decent talent and winning baseball games is not that hard. Texas just makes it look excruciatingly difficult.

I feel that. I feel the same way, just in reverse. I just want one more ALW division title so we can horde it over your heads lol. I have zero post season expectations.

All right you toad lickers. Seattle is toast. It's one of us now. Someone has to win this thing. Even though the three way 78-84 ****show is off the table we can still make a historic statement.

All we have to do is each lose the next three and end up tied at 79-83. A Division Champ 4 games under water has a ring to it. This Division needs to show what it's capable of. We have tried all season to be a flaming turd in a bag left on a doorstep. Let's complete our mission and show MLB and Robbie Manfred that teams in Texas live by their rules and not his!

We almost got beat by a guy who had never gone 5 IP and had an ERA of 7+ last night. It took history in the making with 3 big flies from some dude with an OPS of .416 to beat them.

Not only is this thing NOT over, we both know either of us is fully capable of losing the next three.

Agreed.

The Astros have a lot to play for and the AAA's are just not talented enough to beat a team trying to win a division at this point of the season.

We usually have a hard time with the Twins, so I think we will at best split these two and it'll be over.

Congratulations on the AL West title again. Even if we gave it to you because we shat the bed against you and then couldn't beat the dregs of the AL West in season series. The most Ranger season of my lifetime. I've only been watching them since 1979, though.

We can still do this. Each of us sit at 79-81. If we each lose the last 2 games MLB will get a Division winner with a 79-83 record. No one has ever been below .500 and that would be a whopping 4 under.

Nutria is tasty when prepared correctly, basted in clarified butter and lime and a flick of cayenne. And paired with a nice Chianti.
