Yordaddy just slashed a cool .636/.733/1.000 this weekend and that's including 3 IBBS.

You should have just pointed to 1B every AB. Would have been safer.

Congrats on the sweep and almost certainly winning the AL West again. We deserve to be ridiculed for being the sole reason yall are above .500.

Dude pitched max effort for 6.0 and 12 punchies, 0 BB. Hell of a game. At 92 pitches, at best he gives one more inning. At best.

Don't blame him for the reliever who went 0.0 IP and 4 ER on a whopping 10 pitches.

First off, nobody throws CGs anymore. It's all max effort and 6 IP, 100 pitches is a solid day.

He's got an ERA of 3.80 but an xERA of 3.37. His FIP is a sterling 3.02 and his xFIP is even better at 2.99. That would suggest he's pitched his ass off and your ****ty hitters and ****ty fielders are less than supportive. That's why he's a .500 pitcher with a 10-9 record that is baseballs dumbest metric.

He's got a k/9 of 11.2 and a K/BB of 5. Lastly he's sporting a WAR of 4.1.

I would say you are more than getting your money's worth. A contract by the way that the Mets and Steve Cohen signed him to.

Interesting point. But it turns out deGrom has actually gotten stellar defense behind him. +7 FRV.

Others that should have a gripe? Rocker Kumar with a -9 (2nd worst in baseball), Peter Lambert -8, Enyel De Los Santos -8, Gray Peyton -5, and Hunter Brown -5.

As far as getting your money's, here is how Fangraphs (fWAR) values him.

2023 - 11.6 M
2024 - 3.1 M
2025 - 26.9 M
2026 - 33.0 M

When healthy, he's been close to his value. TJ is a *****, and sometimes you have to overpay to land the UFA.

i looked it up out of curiosity,, there have been 20 complete games and 10 shutouts across all of mlb in 2026

the game has changed greatly over the decades

in 1975, jim palmer ALONE threw 25 complete games and 10 shutouts

Then ****ty hitting. Or ****ty relievers behind him like yesterday. Or sometimes it's just bad luck.

1987, Nolan Ryan. He went 8-16 but had an ERA of 2.76, a K/9 of 11.5, a B/9 of 3.7, a FIP of 2.47, and a WAR of 6.7. But he sucks and his arm should fall off because he was a 0.333 pitcher.

He's soft. It's not a Mets contract. Texas signed him as a FA before 2023 season. He's the 2nd highest pitcher in MLB.

He gives up a home run in the first inning at an alarmingly high rate, putting his team in a whole more often than not. We knew he was injury prone when we signed him, but that's all Texas can get. Overpay for past their prime SP. Now he's got a groin issue, so who knows about that.

When we absolutely need him to win a game for us he's failed time and time again.

And again, knowing there may not be 2027 baseball, who the hell stays with the sub .500 RANGERS at the trade deadline in their final year of their career and refuses to go to Atlanta?
