No team has lost game 1 by 30+ and won the series in the last 30 years.

It doesn't fill the same without the Mexican guy behind the broadcasters. I wonder what happened to him.

Watching post game interviews. Why do Westbrook and Durant continue to feel the need to do post game pressers together?

Because they both feel the other is the real MVP!

Barkley was going on about Westbrooks giving up a lot of plays in transition because he likes to gamble for offensive rebounds. I feel like he's giving him too much credit.

Take, for example, this play. Westbrook launches the jumper and revels in the moment (THEY WERE DOWN 18 IN THE FIRST QUARTER AT THE TIME), treating its successful conclusion as a mere formality. By the time he figured out what was actually happening, Kawhi Leonard is already receiving the pass and Kyle Singler (the NBA's worst player, by just about any metric you care to measure) is the only defender close enough to even foul him.

That is James Harden-level defense and Javale McGee-level basketball IQ.

But in all seriousness, one of the best games I've seen the Spurs play start to finish ever. Only other games that I can remember where they dominated like that was '14 finals
You have to give some credit to the Thunder for playing some of the worst defense we've seen in the playoffs. They were channeling the Rockets last night.

What the Thunder were thinking by quarter:
1st. They keep running near each other, are they allowed to do that? Wait, he threw it to someone else! I don't understand, what do we do?
2nd. I just want to go home.
3rd. We ought to at least try to close the gap a little for the sake of pride.
4th. Well, that didn't work. At least it'll be over soon.

As much as I'd love to talk about how great the spurs executed, the thunder didn't show up. Poor effort and simply dumb on defense. I've come to expect fanatical effort that made up for their occasional mistakes (usually be Westbrook), but they looked like the 76ers out there: a bunch of rookies who have good intentions but no clue what to do and the deeply ingrained knowledge that they are going to lose.

One screen either on or off the ball was all it took to free up a great shot all night. The spurs never really got into their offense because they didn't need to.

It makes me wonder if there is a major issue in the locker room.

The spurs were on fire last night and won't shoot like that again but you have to realize that most of the shots were exactly what they wanted in the flow of the offense. I don't expect another game where LA and Green combine for 56 but I also don't expect another game where TP, Manu and Patty combine for 11. I can see the Spurs getting 105-115 a game this series if they get some fast break points from Russels stupidity so the question is can they keep the Thunder around 100.

Keep Durant in the 20-25 point range on 20-25 shots and then keep making Westbrook a jump shooter who gets frustrated. Hopefully if you rotate correctly Ibaka doesn't get you for 5 3's in a close game.

You don't lead the league in 4th quarter collapses without a major locker room issue. Cough cough 2012 Aggies cough

What a great play. Look at the detail in Manu's movements. He glances down court to locate Kawhi, then sets his feet so he can act as soon as the ball gets to him. No wasted movement.

His glance to find Leonard is so quick you barely even see it. Ginobili is already setting up for the pass before he even gets the ball!

If the thunder play the kind of defense they did in game one, this won't change for most games. It's like putting the spurs in an empty gym and having shooting practice. They will make 70% of wide-open uncontested shots all day long. You're in complete denial about what happened if you think the Spurs were simply out of their mind and had a good shooting night.

Aldridge won't shoot that high of percentage again. Hell he made one falling down with his left hand. He was just "on". Yes the spurs will shoot above average all series if yesterday's defense is what they see but they won't shoot 65% or whatever it was. That is unreal offensive efficiency

That's what people kept saying in 2014, but the Spurs kept doing it anyway. The Spurs shot 61% against the Thunder. In the 2014 playoffs, the Spurs broke 55% five times with three of those coming in the finals, and this is with a ton of blowouts resulting in garbage time bringing the field goal percentage down.

If you don't defend well, the Spurs will score with tremendous efficiency because they don't get complacent and quit doing whatever is working. As long as the thunder keep trying to single cover Aldridge in the low post, he's going to shoot a high percentage. As long as both defenders collapse on the ball handler in the pick and roll, the spurs will make a high percentage of open midrange jumpers and layups. As long as they don't fight through back screens, the spurs will make a high percentage of open threes. As long as they don't get into proper defensive stance and show help against kawhi, he is going to shoot a high percentage. As long as they don't get back in transition, the spurs will score a high percentage on the break and secondary break. Half the time a shot went up the spurs had someone under the basket waiting for a tip-in if the shot had missed because the thunder weren't boxing out.

The thunder played lazy, sloppy defense. You do that against the spurs in the playoffs, you get murdered.

The spurs are a legit 13 deep

The point differential for the spurs has to be off the charts right now

Having said that the leonard opening dunk was centimeters away from ending our season
