The officiating in the NBA playoffs will just make me quit watching basketball one day.

Spurs 2, Refs 2, OKC 0.

Ummm. What? He's had a pretty damn good series thus far.

I'm just about done playing both OKC and the Refs! We blow them out just like game 1 if it's called both ways!

29-16 disparity in free throws and Thunder out scoring Spurs 34-16 in the fourth quarter were killers.

Extremely physical game tonight. Refs swallowed the whistle all game and Spurs never matched the intensity level. Rebounding is already a challenge vs this team for the Spurs and when the refs are letting everything go down there, it's virtually impossible for the Spurs to rebound vs this team.

Not necessarily surprising that they played with more desperation, but the physical nature of the game definitely benefited them tonight.

Would like like to see Boris get more minutes late over West. West is doing a good job but Boris is a different kind of threat and has been there before many times.

Durant was great tonight, gotta give him credit. Kawhi clearly got tired late in the game which is kinda worrisome. Hopefully aren't working him too hard in these games but,p I think the physical nature of the game played a role in that also.

Anyway, we did our job and got home court back. Mission accomplished.

OKC is probably the most physical team in the league. When the refs let them bump, chip and forearm on every cut and every box out it gets old real quick. Not to mention Westbrook can maul whoever he wants. I really wonder what the refs are looking at sometimes. That being said, I like the way they play its fun to watch when its not your team going against them. I can't help but think the pretty boy Warriors won't be getting treated like this.

The reality is the Spurs have matched them and hopefully aren't getting too worn down. I don't think its a coincidence that we've won the games coming off more than a day of rest. The next one will be a real gut check.

If the FT disparity is even close, the Spurs will be fine at home. Many of those 3s will drop. Leonard and Aldridge went ice cold at the end and since Green never bothered showing up, we had 3 players on the court in the 4th Qtr that could barely buy a basket.

Still think Spurs win this series, but I am starting to get nervous about it. Next game is a must-win.

Still have home court, but tonight was bad in the end. Just can't take much out of it other than the fact that the refs are helping OKC ball and Durant was on.

A good margarita helped sooth the pain of that 4Q.

Just a question. This is not Los Angeles versus Spurs, or (understanding different conference) Chicago versus Spurs or New York versus Spurs. San Antonio is a bigger market than Oklahoma City. There is no reason for the fix to be in. So it is not. The referees are not screwing the Spurs.

I am a Spurs fan. But the fix is not in on this.

The conspiracy theorist argument for a fix would be that the NBA wants it to be a seven game series and they don't care who plays Golden State.

Yes but OKC has the stars. I've had this debate with coworkers. The NBA loves its stars, and for a neutral fan, who would they rather see? Westbrook and Durant going off for 30 apiece? Or the ever serious Kawhi dunking it in the most ho-hum fashion ever?

The Spurs don't have stars. Kawhi is getting there, but if you've been watching this series you see how much he's allowed to get mauled compared to KD who was getting touch fouls.

I'm not saying the fix is in, as in the NBA is straight up fixing the series. But the fix for at least 6 games is definitely in. If the Clippers were healthy and playing GSW, I wouldn't be shocked if that series went 6 also. The NBA loves its money, and they get more money with longer, controversial, back and forth playoff series.

I'm not worried. I always felt this was going 6. 5 if we had won both at home, but when we dropped game 2 I knew we were going at least 6. We also knew that OKC was going to have at least one game at home where the refs would call the whistle whenever a Thunder player was touched, and that was last night. Same thing happened in 2014.

I didn't think we could win 2 in a row at OKC. Too tough of a place to play. 2014 beautiful game Spurs didn't win a game at OKC until game 6, so I'm not freaking out yet. I like us winning the next 2.

I want to see Diaw get a little more PT, but we need Duncan to stay out of foul trouble and stay loose enough to play more in the 2nd. We missed him clogging up the middle last night. LA/West/Diaw are not enough of a deterrent to keep guys like Waiters out of the lane.

You don't have to have a conspiracy to have crappy officiating

The conspiracy is to extend this series so that Curry is healthy and ready for WCF. Duh
GarryowenAg

I think they do that as part of home court advantage, or giving them makeup calls from the prior night(s).

I thought we would probably lose this game, but to be in good shape to win heading into the fourth then go so cold down the stretch was disappointing. Against OKC, we have to make shots to set up our defense, so going ice cold hurts us on both ends.

One thing i would have liked us to do differently was not ride the bench players so long in the fourth. Maybe Kawhi needed the rest, because he looked pretty gassed at the end, but I thought Parker and Aldridge should have gone back in earlier in the fourth. That's when our slide started, and things could have gone differently if we weren't playing from behind.

Game 5 is the biggest game of the series.

Aggressive teams that go to the hole will get more calls. The Spurs are like the Harlem Globetrotters. Pass, pass, pass, keep everyone involved and then pass some more. When something happens you go to the hole. So they free throw count is not a good indicator of what is going on. And Ginobli being a turd never helpd.

3 point shooting.
Thunder have consistently shot in the 25-33% range.
When the Spurs shoot their normal % (or above), they win.
When they shoot 3s like the Grizzlies, they lose.

SPURS
Game 1: 9-15
Game 2: 6-23 (0-5 from Leonard and Parker)
Game 3: 10-19
Game 4: 2-12 (0-6 from starters, including 0-4 from Leonard)

THUNDER
Game 1: 6-23
Game 2: 5-19
Game 3: 10-30
Game 4: 9-23

Yet Adams is allowed to get away with murder in the post.

Keep trying.

Spurs were going to the basket last night. And got hardly any calls. Look, I'm not blaming the refs. This happens all the time when we play OKC. It's still annoying even though you knew it would happen.

Pleased that Donovan went with Kanter and Adams to finish out, Serge was terrible last night. Durant was out of this world, and Westbrook made a few key hustle plays that define his style. OKC the last two games has played much better defense than I've seen from them, but the Spurs missed a few wide open 3's that won't happen often. I see this going 7 and likely going the Spurs way, but it's a fun series.

With Duncan giving the Spurs nothing these last couple games, Pop will have some interesting choices to make, because Kanter and Adams are murdering the boards.
