Yeah the best part of the keeping Durant in OKC conspiracy is that the SA market is better than OKCs by a large margin.

Never been so unexcited about a playoff game. 100% expect to get jobbed my the refs so the NBA can get Durant to the WCF and keep him in OKC.

I agree with you that they suck but it's a hard sport to get perfect with so many judgement calls. And the home team has a huge advantage with the refs and there's not much you can do about that except make them robots with no emotion.

And yet the home team has had horrible calls go against in this series...but only when the home team is SA...

Here me out. I'm in Vegas and on mobile so don't expect the best reasoned and error free argument but I'll try.

What is over if the biggest problems there is in the nba? Parity between the small and large market teams. Who wants to play in Minnesota when you can be in Miami or New York? Carmelo left Denver for New York to try to win and also to live in NYC.

These teams, SA included, have to draft their stars. We've seen examples of teams falling into obscurity after their drafted players leave got bigger markets. If Durant and Westbrook leave OKC they will be hard pressed to get quality star talent to keep them relevant. Not only is that bad for OKC but also bad for the nba.

Teams like OKC and SA show other small market teams that you can keep your stars and win (or get close). This brings hope to a Minnesota or Memphis that they can achieve what Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami have done.

Durant will look to pull a LeBron if they can't win or get close enough. I get the excellent post by that guy on this thread that Durant is a great dude and is amazing in the community but at some point they want to win they championship and Durant will have to leave if OKC can't get it done.

Hope that makes some sense, I'm off to see some dolphins.

This. 21-5 fta advantage at one point when the spurs were looking to build a lead. The fact that Adams can pull Duncan down and the foul goes on Duncan is about all I need to see. How often is Leonard mauled to death and gets no call?

Don't blame the loss on the NBA, that's silly. Plus the Spurs have won 5 titles, if there's a conspiracy to keep them out of the finals it's a pretty lousy conspiracy.

I don't think it's a conspiracy at all by anybody. But the refs have been very bad and, in this series, they've been very bad at key times against San Antonio. I won't feel bad at all if we get bad calls our way tonight to help us. It would help even things out.

But I agree... OKC has done what they needed. That insanely deep 3 with the shot clock expiring by Westbrook, followed by another 3 by Durant on the next possession (to tie the game) really killed us. That had nothing to do with the refs. But I can't ignore the fact that we were "this" close to blowing the game wide open (on more than one occasion) and our crowd was about to got NUTZ... and then the refs completely slowed the game down with multiple whistles. The refs literally controlled the game and more than once allowed OKC to get back into the game.

The worst call of the game was when we opened up a double digit lead, had a clean deflection of a pass and a clear shot to the basket with Green picking up the loose ball. I have no idea why the ref decides to call a Phantom foul here and deny us the big lead and tells our fans "quiet down please". It was ridiculous!!!

I'm not claiming a conspiracy, but I absolutely think that Westbrook and Durant get many more calls than Aldridge, Parker, Leonard, etc.

The refs just suck and don't call it even. The FT disparity is terrible against OKC
It is rarely like that unless the Spurs are playing the Thunder.

I just find it incredibly hard to believe that a team that fouls as infrequently as the Spurs somehow fouls SO MUCH MORE than a team who averages more fouls than them by a good margin.

I also find it pretty freaking ridiculous that these refs are missing big, obvious, game-changing calls and continue to just shrug and say sorry.

Ditto. GOAT Manu play. And he's had a career littered with great ones. My favorite player ever.

I'm serene tonight. Want the win badly, but if this is it (not just for the series/season, but for the big three being active), then there's really no keep for sorrow. They've given this city so, so much. They owe us nothing more.
