Strong* lineup for tonight's game. Same starting 11 as in the League Cup except Maguire comes in for Martinez. Maybe the 3-0 1st leg win has led ETH to use that game for a little rotation?.

Probably right, hope they get up 2 or 3 in first 60, rest some guys and then play more reserves on Wednesday against Forest. You know Forest will be focused on EPL match for the weekend.

Oof. That's a big blow. A thin squad just lost a player at its thinnest position. Looks like Casifred for the rest of the season unless United shock everyone with one of last minute transfer rumors floating about.

Of those rumors, Sabitzer seems to be the most interesting one but I'm still thinking this is a lot of hot air. The player doesn't seem particularly interested in leaving Bayern.

Sabitzer would really soften the Eriksen news. He could fit really well in this squad. I'm sure I'm not alone but I liked his game the little I used to watch Leipzig and was really hoping United would get him back when he went to Bayern instead.

Apparently United kicked the tires for Gravenberch on loan (which is just so ETH) but Bayern said "nein" even though Ryan is pissed he's getting no PT at Bayern.

Well if they are open to selling or loaning out Sabitzer, it does open up more PT for Gravenberch I would assume.

My guess is that would take a lot longer to negotiate and the current owners aren't willing to spend much since they are selling. From their POV, a loan w/o a buy option is perfect. Minimal outlay of money while keeping them on course for the top 4 which makes the asset their selling much more valuable.

Good late addition add. There weren't just a ton of deals happening that caused much envy for me. Obviously the Glazers don't want to spend money, but I'll take this over whatever it is Chelsea is doing; if anything, I hope they haven't screwed up the transfer fee expectations too much for the summer. Last summer when Frankie de Jong was supposedly done except for personal terms I thought it was a lot of cash; after the winter of Chelsea I'm thinking, "Man, hope they can get as good a deal in the coming summer window."

Catching up on the highlights and that ball from Fernandes that eventually led to Fred's goal was scream out loud good. Newcastle will be no cakewalk that's for sure. Would be really nice to bring home the first trophy in 6 years and for ETH to bring a trophy home in his first season.

Varane announced his international retirement at the age of 29. Quite a young age to do so but should hopefully extend his career make him available for more games.
