Wendy... I had a conversation on that exact topic earlier today with a buddy of mine. We can hope.
4-5 months is too short a time to have hired or even completed a candidate search for a job like this. Typically the search firm takes about 6 months before they even narrow the field to 5-10 candidates. I'd be surprised if TAMU has someone in the spot in less than a year REGARDLESS of who the final hire is.
Of course that does always leave the door open for a grand return....
