I am following a 16-8 intermittent fasting schedule. 16 hours of fasting and 8 hour eating window each day. I was mixing in really low calorie "fast days" but they were making me really snacky and hungry during those days. So I tried an actual fast day. So from 8pm Sunday to 12pm Tuesday I fasted. Had water and coffee and my multivitamin but did not eat anything.
I spent the time I normally devoted to preparing and eating meals to devotional and it was really rewarding. I plan on doing this every other week and see how it goes.

Why would you assume that? Once you are used to fasting your energy level on a fasting day is like any other day. Some people even have better work outs on fasting days.

Because not eating for 40 consecutive hours isn't really conducive to a good workout when you hit the gym and want to lift heavy.

Many people that fast actually prioritize exercising fasted, because the positive effects from exercising are boosted in a fasted state relative to a fed state. Your body produces more growth hormone in a fasted state than in a fed state. Not sure if there are any studies that have proven that fasted exercising boosts results, but some of the mechanisms are definitely there.

Quick Update: Found this morning that all of my size 38 pants are comfortable except for my 501's. Those are more trim, so not surprising with my body shape. No weight until later in the week, but it is good to be getting back into clothes that I have not been able to wear for a few years.

Keep up the good work.

Been doing a 16-8 fast for a couple years and that helps immensely in keeping me in check. Tried going to one meal a day and that unfortunately dropped my weight a little too low so 16-8 was the sweet spot for myself.

Enjoying the updates btw.

Which is what you want. You didn't gain it all quickly, you're not going to lose it all quickly, unless you do it in an unhealthy way. The faster you lose, the more likely it is to come back.

Slow and steady builds a stronger habit in my opinion. Lose it all fast and you're probably more likely to gain it all back quickly as well.

Slow and steady means you are learning how to eat sustainability and be happy. Fast means you just aren't eating, are miserable, and bound for a backtrack since you've not taught yourself anything.

This is the most disciplined and intentional I've ever been on weight loss and I'm losing slower than I ever have before. Probably a lot of it is age, but I also think there's something to be said for it being "stickier" when you take it off slowly. I put it on over the course of several years, makes sense it wouldn't all come off right away.

I'd ditch the scale and get a tape measure.....after all....when you're the size you want to be....doesn't really matter what you weigh right?

I know the scale is one way to measure progress but in my past I've actually gained weight and reduced size....due to body recomposition.
