What auto insurance providers do y'all use for your Tesla? State Farm seems to be the most cost effective vs Tesla's insurance and USAA based on the quotes I've received

I'm on State Farm, for grins I got a quote from Tesla and it made me spit out my coffee.

I use Tesla's insurance. USAA quoted $214. Tesla quoted $212 with a 90 safety score. They updated their safety score calculation to treat 100% of FSD miles at 100 and does a weighted average score with your own driving score based upon miles driven. With a 65 safety score for my personal driving from trying to rush my dog to the hospital it still came out to a 99 safety score and a $138 monthly premium. So around a 35% discount from what they initially quoted for a presumed 90 score.

99.6% of my driving is on FSD.

Nvm, misunderstood. Performance is definitely the right choice.


I'm on State Farm. My Model X Plaid vs my Tundra TRD Pro was negligible difference. But might try a quote from Tesla since I'm 95% FSD so far

Anyone use Tesla Electric as their energy provider? Evidently you get unlimited night charging for $15/mo. Any thoughts?

I use it, works great. Especially since I drive over 100 miles a day. The ultra cheap charging really adds up.

No. It's high. I change electric providers often and go in on the free nights plans. Delay Tesla charger to start when free night kicks in. Do the same with dryer, dishwasher, pool pump, etc.

Basically at 9pm it's like that scene on Christmas Vacation when the auxiliary nuclear switch is turned on.

Ok, I have an awesome FSD "win."

I was getting off an interstate and the light was red. I stopped behind two other cars. The light turned green and the two cars ahead of me went through the intersection. Tesla was going, too.

All of a sudden, the Testa slammed on the brakes. A black lady was on her phone and ran the red light, going about 45 miles per hour. I really don't think I would have seen that in time.

There's a good joke to tell here but I'm not going to make it.

I spent a couple hours yesterday researching buying a model Y by October after a buddy got one recently and said the FSD is a no brainer and the sales price and financing etc is all hard to beat.

It's incredible how smart google AI is. I first went to Carvana ready to order like my friend did and do a trade in and they totally lowballed my current vehichicle which is an Infiniti G37. They also quoted me much higher prices than Tesla direct which is what the AI assistant told me to do.

The AI assistant even recommended I post my vehicle for sale on a local forum like TexAgs and said be sure to adhere to "rule #1" or people will mock me and also even gave the format for posting a listing which is identical to the suggested TA forums protocols. It also suggested I take photos of my car somewhere scenic like Kyle Field in the background.

It then told me to go to Aggieland Credit Union for the finance side and that I should also see what the local CarMax will offer me and it spit out the address. This was all unprompted.

Highly looking forward to driving a new model Y soon. I'll post my Infiniti here and in Classifieds once ready as well if anybody is looking for a highly reliable vehicle at a low price. I've sold a car on TA before and my track record is solid there.

In a moment of total synchronicity, a past client of mine just text me asking if I know someone who can install a Tesla charger here in B/CS.

Anybody know the answer to this? I suppose I could just resume the chat with google AI.

Interesting. I looked to trade in my previous Tesla for this one with Tesla direct and they were the lowest by far with Carvana beating everyone else out, difference was $7K.

For what's worth the Carvana experience was super super easy.

I looked into it, and I think it's only a good value if you have low usage overall. It was going to be a lot more expensive that I originally thought based on my usage.

A friend is a retail electric provider/reseller and he reviewed the terms sheet.
