I don't like FSD 14. I'm sure they'll fix it but this latest sub-version is too timid.

I don't see this issue and I think I got the most recent update (maybe not on 12/14). I went mad max today at a 60mph zone and it was going 78. A little too fast for me and switched to hurry that got it down to 69.

Biggest beef is they don't seem to read signs well. There are long stretches where they miss the speed limit. Anyone have this issue?

Like when I am going on a 45mph then it switches to 70mph. It misses the 70mph and it would be 60 on mad max which still is not fast enough.

Agree with most points:

1) Too timid in some situations that I don't remember previously, such as approaching intersections while optimizing for lanes. So slow at stop signs also, but I think it always was. I don't do the roll stop setting.
2) Wipers on dry windshield is nails on chalkboard
3) Getting more creative on routes and not always in a good way

All that being said enjoying it still, not sure it's that big an upgrade though. Glad I have 2023 Y with HW4 and turn stalk.

I was on Beltway 8 in Houston and it kept seeing the 35mph speed limit signs for the exit and trying to slow waaaay down.

I was actually going to post about the speed limit signs after my road trip today. It was never showing the updated speed on the sign on my dash screen but FSD was slowing down to the actual posted speed limits. It would have a constant 75 shown but drop down to 40 or 55 or whatever. I was paying pretty close attention because I was driving through unfamiliar states and didn't want to get popped.

Have you ever had the windshield in front of the camera housing cleaned? It can lead to increased dry wipes. I need to do it on my car.

Used FSD 97% of the way from SETX to Branson yesterday. Takeovers were from when I wanted to do something unplanned or just forgetting to engage after a stop. Pretty wild seeing it navigate me through all the twists and turns coming in to Branson. The tech ology continues to amaze me. Worth every penny is spent on it (0 pennies)

Pretty cool starlink integration looks to be coming to (new) TSLA vehicles at some point likely soon.

Makes sense since it works for airplanes/ships anyway, to integrate the antenna into the roof structure. I wouldn't be surprised if they license this to other folks though too, as the 'subscription model' seems to be all the rage for car makers these days.

Just drove from Denver to Houston almost entirely on FSD. Only had 1 instance of not seeing a speed limit sign so pretty happy with that. I took over on a round about that it wasn't super sure what to do and a couple lane changes that it was pretty timid on.

I even let it go in a park at super chargers which was pretty cool. I've done this drive quite a few times and this time was sooo much easier on me.

… because after the Miami loss, I went outside and washed, waxed and detailed it it's been raining so she's stuck in the garage til the weather clears up.

SETX to Branson and back done over the last week, plus plenty of driving around Branson. Took over a couple times but usually just because I wanted to do something unplanned.

One major gripe though is that there is construction on a highway in Texarkana and the exit has moved so it missed it and we had to travel about SEVEN MILES down the road to get to the next one. Of course my youngest was screaming about needing to go potty so I missed the street sign too, and then we had an extra 10+ minutes of driving until we could stop. That was not fun.

Also I am on HW3 with FSD 12 and it is still this good, so I can only imagine how much better it has become. One other cool thing it did was come up on a roundabout that wasnt in the nav and it still handled it perfectly. I like seeing those edge cases.

Just upgraded from HW3 to HW4. The recent HW4 updates were fairly big. HW3 definitely gets the job done but HW4 is definitely next level.

At one point it said something about "residue inside glass" that needed to be cleaned, but I think it was because it couldn't get the exterior cleaned well enough and assumes it's on inside. Once I take glass cleaner to outside of camera it works perfectly until it gets dirty again. Every other time it just said it's exterior cleaning needed, but if I get that message again I might take it in for service

That's interesting! Did you change cars or did they do an upgrade on your existing car?

My HW4 MYP has been saying that lately and it started just after the software update early this month.

Edit: I read that it's a $100 service item, but pretty easy to do yourself.

I did as well, but I read they changed it from a warranty to a maintenance item. Please report back if you contact them.

The front windshield camera cleaning I believe has to be done from the inside. Its a cheap maintenance and had it done myself after an alert showed up. Tesla service did it as a courteously.

Tsla FSD data finally released and better than I could imagine. These gaps will continue to get wider as the software improves and when HW5 comes on board in 2026/2027.

I have adopted FSD 90% in city and 99% on hwy. FSD drives better than I do and much better than the avg driver. Their big hurdle is regulatory approval and having DJT in office for 3 yrs gives them a long runway.

My Stocks are 60% tsla, and I plan on increasing the amount of shares in the next month

I can't wait for that. I bet we have robots (other than Roombas) around the house by 2027. That will be the total game changer. Elon says next year but he tends to oversell a bit.

Car rerouted me and some random state trooper was blocking the road I was supposed to go in and being a real dick about it. Now my commute is an hour longer. Really pissed at the whole situation so probably just skipping going out to dinner and to take the kids to see lights.

Optimus will make FSD look insignificant. Imagine a robot that can clean the kitchen, fold clothes, sweep the floor, and be a great security feature.

Tsla is 60% of my stock portfolio but only about 5% of my net worth so I am fine being high risks.

I cleaned under my front cameras a couple nights ago and it was easy, took like 10=15 minutes. I watched YT video and here are the steps:

• pop the small plastic cover off that's over the rearview mirror base
• twist mirror (by base) to remove
• use trim tool to pop off the main cover on the windshield side
• drop the camera under hood thing (two small tabs, one on each side)
• clean glass
• put everything back together

I just had this completed by Tesla mobile service. Appt lasted less than 30 minutes. It was free for me, and I'm out of warranty. In my request, I mentioned this started when I upgraded software and am having problems with FSD. I added that I read this was being done free. Not sure if that swayed them, but I had my free appt scheduled less than an hour later. I have a 2023 MY

Drove FSD 4 hours across Texas and back this week. The car drove 97% of the time or more, mainly only intervened for some navigational preferences. It handled everything better than nearly all human drivers in my estimation. Truly incredible.

Arriving after 4 hours of driving when you didn't actually drive is SO much more refreshing. I didn't arrive completely dead like I normally would.

I am in love with FSD and cannot imagine ever buying a car without it again.

Have any of you installed a swivel mount for your screen?

Driving on FSD definitely makes driving more relaxing. I never thought driving actually took much attention but once you are on FSD, you can see the difference. I just took a roundtrip from Austin to SA on 99% FSD and it took all the overpasses/exits like a champ. Even when I was not sure which lane to take, it did it well.

We have 2 Tesla w/FSD and will add a 3rd next year for my 17 year old before she goes to college.

I have not installed a swivel mount for our MY but our MX has it and I don't really see much of a difference.

I drove to Missouri and back and was ready to actually begin my vacation upon arrival instead of beat the hell up from dealing with the road. It truly is magic. It is the absolute future. My next truck will be a cyber truck simply for the fact that it has FSD. it won't be for a while, but I really don't see anyone else getting FSD in the next decade.

On the other hand, the world needs to be safer, so mandatory FSD for all women would be a plus. Make it happen Elon!

My oldest is about to be 10 and in all but certain her first car will be a model 3. Not sure why that is so odd for someone who appreciates Teslas to get their teenager the entry level model.

In 2025 I would give a new driver a Tesla but not FSD. They aren't a good enough driver to be driving alone, they're definitely not good enough to know when or how to take over when FSD can't handle something.

Just a thought.

Base level Model Y is under 40k new and has a 0-60 in 6.8s. Not too fast. $40k is a lot, but if you have the money, seems like worse ways to spend it.

With the high depreciation, seems like there are lots of cheap models that are just a few years old. You can get a Model 3 with under 50k miles for under 25k from Tesla now.

Yea, I am going to target a used but still in warranty 3 or Y. Same thing we did with our X.

Funny story on I10 east of Houston tonight. Tesla nav rerouted me off the freeway to avoid traffic but troopers had the next freeway entrance closed so everyone that exited had to loop back around to get back on the west bound freeway. When I got to the stop sign to loop back around there were three Teslas out of 5 cars doing that loop. We all got got.

She will be getting a 2026 MY with FSD. Our middle and youngest will be getting a Tesla with FSD when they go to college.

It is super safe, tech superior to any other car, low maintenance, and never need to go to a gas station. It is really a no brainer to me.

My wife are completely against used cars and truthfully, saving 20K on a 2024 means little to us. I rather spend on my kids now when they can enjoy it rather than when they are 55 when money will mean much less.

Damn! Mine just ran right through a stop sign today. We were facing directly into the sun, so maybe that had an effect, but I saw the stop sign clear as day and the car did act like it was gonna stop, but they just went through it. Luckily there were no other cars except for one that had just turned left as we approached the intersection.
