My stepdad just pulled the trigger on a brand new FSD Model Y AWD in blue. He didn't want to go electric, but the FSD convinced him to make the switch.

We have 2 Tesla w/FSD and will add a 3rd next year for my 17 year old before she goes to college.
umm...
No offense, but seriously?
On the other hand, the world needs to be safer, so mandatory FSD for all women would be a plus. Make it happen Elon!
So I take my first comment back, with these terms in place.

Is there a button to tap to send these errors/items to Tesla for review like the FSD beta testers have?
Tesla will stop selling FSD after Feb 14.

FSD will only be available as a monthly subscription thereafter.

This is my understanding. FSD is married to the car but Tsla will have promotions where you can transfer it to the new car without cost. This happens a few times a year and typically when they want to move cars.
Elon has stated in the past that once tesla gets close to Robotaxis, they will end purchase because someone would make more money off using the car as a robotaxi than the 8k.
Tsla now appears to feel they are close so not allowing purchase. The $99/mo price will go up once robotaxi becomes a reality. My feeling is it will be 300+ if you can add your car to the robotaxi fleet.
Imagine sending your car out every day and make $100/day.

Have any of you installed a swivel mount for your screen?

$99/mo is a no brainer if you were going to pay 8k for FSD which is abut 7 yrs worth.
I have no idea the final cost but it will be more than 99/mo. I am hopeful they will allow people who bought it to transfer to new cars in the future. Once HW5 comes out, I will definitely upgrade if they allow a transfer.

If you could get a used basic model 3, it would be a very cool investment vehicle. That being said, there's no way I would let randos ride around and do god knows what in my personal vehicle. I think Tesla knows this will be the case for most people.
My guess is that Tesla's price point for Robotaxi service will come with a couple of perks, but ultimately be positioned for commerce. It's like buying a goggle workspace license. You can get a basic version that does fine for most individuals, or you can pay more for additional features (i.e., extra cloud space, larger and longer meetings, etc.).
My guess is that they'll leave supervised FSD in place for the same price. If you want fully unsupervised, it'll be $300, but that will give you access to Robotaxi use, insurance coverage for accidents while in FSD mode, and something else (like discounted super charging).

Can someone summarize the past 22 pages of posts for someone interested in information about these cars?

Tesla has updated its vehicle configurator in the U.S. to remove its full Autopilot suite from all new Model 3 and Model Y trims. When ordering a new vehicle, the final configuration no longer includes Autosteer, the integral part of the Autopilot package that performs lane centering.

Does anyone need 0-60 in under three seconds? No, until you can do it whenever you want, then it's hard to go back.
