what was the stat that Kalas (or Blum) said tonight in the 1st inning regarding Fiers? He's allowing 41% of batters to reach base. Did I mishear what he said?
McCullers is only 23, his big payday is on its way if he keeps it up. I am ok with Fiers at $3.5m for now, that is about market value for someone of his level. You need someone to eat innings and right now he is the best option. I seriously doubt he will be in the rotation come July/August.David_Puddy said:Ferris Wheel Allstar said:

Yes, world beater Fiers gets YET ANOTHER win, #2 on the season, out of 10 games pitched, with a grand total of 2 quality starts and a 5 ERA (the highest among the starters). He's definitely earning his $3.5 million dollar salary, while Lance McCullers, who has a 6-1 record with a 2.5 ERA is getting paid less than $550k. That is just criminal.

I absolutely agree, but now I see why Patch trolls you so hard. You get butthurt relatively easy.David_Puddy said:
Having to start Fiers in in the playoffs could very well be the difference between ending this season in the ALCS and the WS. Fiers is a f'ing bum and he is still getting credit for that no hitter from 2 years ago

Hi Puddy. Never change.David_Puddy said:RPM said:

It's a discussion board and an Astros thread, moron. Nobody is butthurt, and if they keep Fiers, it will not affect my life in any way. Sorry that you're too stupid to comprehend that.
If our starting pitchers keep rotating through DL stints then he probably will be...David_Puddy said:Ferris Wheel Allstar said:McCullers is only 23, his big payday is on its way if he keeps it up. Thanks for restating exactly what I said earlier.

With an 11 game lead I have no problem with them doing just that.texpert68 said:
Am I the only one who thinks the Astros are mostly trying to make the best use of the new 10 day DL with all of the new fragile (Morton) and young (Musgrove) arms? All while seeing what some of these AAA guys are made of?
So Puddy. Shows up on page 9 of a thread we've been posting on for weeks (20+ me alone) and immediately assumes everything's about him. Some of us laugh, he goes postal. Then, he wraps himself in the baby-blanketDavid_Puddy said:
Oh look it's another one of my stalkers following me around from Rivalries and adding nothing of value to a legitimate Astros thread. How's that whole being able to form a complete and coherent sentence coming along? I'm sure you'll get it right one of these days fella.
Not sure about Morton, sounds like his situation actually warranted being shutdown. But I do think Hinch has used the 10 day DL on Keuchel and Musgrove to do exactly what you say. I'd bet we see this happen a decent amount through the summer.texpert68 said:

of defensiveness and victimhood followed by the tantrums and "attacks".
Just like in the Spurs threads.
(Or seemingly any team that wins 65% or more)
Yawn.....

The Cubs ultimately lost 17 of the last 25 games of the season, while the Mets went 237 to overtake the Cubs and finish eight games ahead of them. It was one of the most astounding late season collapses in history, with the seventeen-game turnaround being one of the biggest ever. The Cubs finished 9270, while the Mets won the National League East and would go on to win the World Series.
