I understand the average daily attendance thing, but that's making a huge assumption about skips. And it's still a huge FU to tons of parents and students at the last minute. They're closing all offices too, so the admins can **** off on a three day weekend. Poor decision that sends a terrible message.Quote:

If it makes anyone feel any better, apparently this is a fairly regular thing in cities that win World Series or Superbowl. I think it's pretty silly myself and was thinking "act like you've been there before" when I heard the announcement, but it's not like we're the only ones.

I can't understand why more people aren't getting excited for this. Houston won the World Series. Here is some footage from last year in Chicago. MILLIONS of people celebrating, as they should be. This is a big deal--enjoy it.

I know we hate him but I think he's been good on the Ktrk broadcast today. I like hearing about how he was a fan as a kid and how much of an impression Cruz and other guys made on him when they came out to his ghetto Spring Woods high school to work out and talk.

I suppose you didn't like Biggio/Bagwell on the float or that Backe was signing autographs at Game 5 (which was awesome for me personally because I attended his WS Start in 2005).
It is possible for someone who had immense success with two teams to root for both teams. It's ok that he went neutral for the ALCS.
Really: I haven't liked Clemens since he was at t.u.
