This is going to be a very interesting year. On paper this is the best Astros line up I can think of. There are quality seasoned veterans and extremely talented young players that should provide stability and superstar moments throughout the year. This season will likely come down to what kind of output the starting pitchers have and can the pen hold up given Hinch's management style. I'm looking forward to a very intriguing season.

Over/under 90 wins....

taking the under. lack of pitching and a solid closer doesn't give me much confidence of breaking that number

I've got the over!

I think Lance McCullers is a serious Cy Young candidate at the end of the year

The problem with Lance is that he really only has 2 pitches and he can't stay healthy, that is not a recipe for a Cy Young.

I think the whole season pretty much hinges on Keuchel. If he is throwing like he did two years ago instead of last year, this team could be really good and a tough out in the playoffs.

I'll take the over. GM said they'll trade for more pitching as necessary.
Lineup looks like Murderer's Row.

I have some concerns about McCann, but with Mr Gattis as a backup it doesn't concern me. I don't know about this kawasaki guy and one can only hope that McCullers can pitch more than a third of the season this year. Otherwise, I feel pretty good about the lineup.

Wrong.

Lance has shown that when he's healthy he's effective. In only 206 ML innings he's sporting a 3.22 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 235 Ks.

It's his health and his inability to stay in the rotation that's holding him back.

I think 20 wins on a division winner will supersede other ticky tack shortcomings

Agree I love the line up but no clue on the pitching staff. If Keuchel can get somewhere between his CY year and last year that's about as good as it gets for him I think. McHugh is kind of who he is so the Astros really need to McCullers to stay healthy and Charlie Morton intrigues the hell out of me as his stuff seems really electric. He could be a major surprise this season.

Bullpen I haven't the foggiest as the talent is there but man the issue with whoever got assigned to close it out having their wheels fall off was baffling last season.

Either way I'm glad it's back. Won't be out there today but headed out tomorrow.

Only chance of success the Stros have are if I completely check out and don't even pay attention to them. Every team I like is cursed. I am checking out of sports for a while and just watching and playing a lot of golf. If I get emotionally invested in this team, they will just let me down. Happens with every team I like no matter the sport.

I doubt he pitches enough games to win 20.

He'll pitch enough games, but he won't go deep enough in those games to qualify for that many wins.

I like Lance, but until he can put in a full season without being hurt, I will remain skeptical.
