Yep, was rooting for them but at some point you gotta bring in numbers. Ah well.

I only liked Rhynes, Cavanaugh and Julie. The rest of the format sucked big time. And Ben and Skin are the worst. They try to be funny and they're not.

Iheart would never sell one solitary station to someone. It's more beneficial for them to keep it and its share of ad $ rather than let another entrant to the market who could take away any ad $ from other iheart stations plus on a network/corporate level that's a station they can use to run their networked commercials in a huge market. They lose that if they sell a station in a huge market and they have the largest leverage in American radio and they're not going to cede anything.

KESN was a different situation entirely. Disney was getting out of owning radio stations entirely and the easiest thing in the world is to dump off a single station to a religious operator. I don't think the timeline matches up but if the Freaks had sorted it out before they got the chance to replace the eagle, Disney may have been willing to talk. They may have had some sort of non-compete going on when the actual KESN stuff happened, though. Not super sure on the timeline. I just like to think about a separate universe where KESN winds up outside Cumulus/Ticket building yet somehow gets Rhyner etc. That's a fun thought experiment.

They were Eagle before the freak and brought in higher ratings than Russ Martin/Alt Rock did. Their contracts were longer with iHeart than everyone else's. I don't think this will be permanent, but making a salary the next 6ish months is more preferable than jumping and having to sit six months. Now have time to plan on what to do next

To be fair, The Russ Martin Show was already toast when B&S moved to The Eagle. Russ had whatever happened to him and basically stopped doing the show and the show was failing.

They must have good lawyers help write their contracts. Probably infinitely more expensive to fire them than let their contact play out.

A big deal only in that they'll get more exposure being part of this "network" and hopefully more subscribers.

Turn over the other afternoon and Sirios was on with B&S and it was quite listenable not sure if it is permanent or what
