If I leave my ps4 in rest mode tomorrow, the dlc should be installed and ready when I get home from work?

I've had troubles getting mine to work. I think maybe it'll download but not install? Can't remember really.

Gotta have the settings correct for that to happen.

You can also push the dlc download manually to the ps4 if its in rest mode with these settings just to be sure its done. Just log into the Playstation site and tell the dlc to download to your ps4.
OK guys...i beat the game but I'm still a Destiny noob. Can somebody explain the difference betwen the energy weapon and whatever the other weapon is called? I just switch back and forth but does one have an advantage over the other?
I assume you mean kinetic and energy weapons (top and middle in your inventory screen). Energy weapons have an elemental damage that does extra damage to enemies with a shield. If you match the element with the shield youll do more damage and It'll actually cause a little explosion around him hurting other enemies as well.

So I've been looking at the patch notes, and from hopping in briefly, There are some small improvements. I accidentally bought an engram from the cryptarc, Goals that allow you to purchase gear with Shax etc. Small improvements that were in D1 (sort of) but still better than nothing.
For whatever reason they are splitting some of the content where some is released now and the rest in a week (12th).

I am in! I already have all 4 season 1 exotic emotes! As soon as I get the selfie I'm going to trials just for that.
They said they are working on an emote wheel for the exotic emotes but don't have a timeline on when it'll be done.

In PvE, Kinetic weapons will do more damage to non shielded enemies. Energy weapons will do more damage to enemy shields. If the element matches the shield, it will add an explosion when the shield pops.
If you want to maximize damage, use your energy weapon to pop the shield and then switch to the Kinetic to finish the enemy off. There is really no reason to spend too much time on which element to use unless it is a modifier on the nightfall or you are doing a strike and want to match to the enemy you will be facing (most Cabal are Solar and most Fallen are Arc etc)

On weapons when I was infusing last night many of them said max LL 360. That may be for the next x-pack though.
I played with my buddy Katydad last night for a few hours- did new story & some strikes and had a great time. They seem to be randomizing some of the enemy types in the old strikes now ran into some vex & fallen in Inverted Spire.
As a very casual gamer I'm loving this game. Great fun!

I played the story last night. I still don't see anything to keep me playing. Strikes are still pointless. The story was interesting though.
I made it through the story last night, and it was fun and well made. Like spieg said, after that though I'm not sure if there is really anything to keep you playing
I read somebody call Destiny 2 'a mile wide and an inch deep'. This only adds to that philosophy in my opinion.
I'll keep playing a bit to get more of the new gear and weapons, and there's still the update next week to see how that plays out. And the new Raid lair looks cool
- Heroic strikes have no modifiers or specific gear so why run them
- The forge weapons take a ton of effort to get, so I guess there are those to grind out
- Crucible is still pretty dull and if you haven't seen it the new weapon Prometheus Lense is the new meta until it's fixed
- Mercury is pretty small and there's not much to explore, and only 1 public event space

I guess I'm just one of those weirdos that likes the strikes & adventure missions and such just for the joy of living in the beautiful world and shooting bad guys. I don't always need a shiny carrot to make me enjoy the game play with a friend.
I'm sure if I had already played each strike 100x I would be sick of them, but I'm not with a limited play schedule. I find the adventures very fun despite no significant reward just for the events they trigger and they often lead you to off the beaten path locations.

Just a note, once you upgrade something above the old LL the required power level will also go up meaning you can't use it on a second character until they get up to that level. Kinda stupid.
Is there a new raid?
Calling it a "Raid Lair" that drops next Tuesday I believe. Underbelly of the Leviathan, I've heard its supposed to be more "raid-like" than the 1st one but someone else heard it's supposed to be really short so who knows. Also I'd expect some vex in there.
