The newer weapons have been a welcome addition! Between the Braytech and Ikelos weapons, it's been fun running public events and such again! Crud, I don't remember the last time staying up late in a WHILE for just public events, but it's hard to say no when you get a new and improved Black Spindle version in the Whisper of the Worm! Really want to raid now and try it out against Calus.
My name is Byf made an excellent video about the lore of the weapon. Brings up a ton of questions. Basically he theorizes the weapon is what's left of Xol hence why it's so powerful. Xol allowed himself to be deafeated by us to help him be more perfect with the sword logic and we are now carrying out his will every time we pull the trigger.
Also, we do know for sure now that Xol is not dead. The lore tab of the weapon says so.
I got on the PS4 last weekend and noticed the jarring difference in the frames that it strained my eyes. And it felt incredibly slow. Is this normal? Any tips to adjust?
That's frustrating, but good to know. I started the warmind on PS4 this evening and played the first mission. So I guess I'll just have to play it to get used to it.
While raids and raid lairs will still offer their regular powerful rewards once per week, other milestones will change to a four-day cycle.
Milestones are now challenges, and what Destiny 2 currently calls challenges (objectives that offer tokens for their completion) will be absorbed into the new bounty system
new daily challenges will offer more ways for players to get earn powerful loot every day
If you miss daily challenges, they'll stockpile until you have four saved up right before the next four-day reset
Weekly: Nightfall Raid 3x Heroic Strikes Call to Arms Clan Engram Flashpoint Bounties Gambit Heroic Story Missions Dreaming City Pub Event
Daily (these reset every 4 days and can only have 4 at a time) Nightfall Gambit Heroic adventure Crucible matches Heroic Strikes
Mods
mods will no longer offer a power boost, which means you won't have a pressing need to equip a mod just to slightly increase your power
With your current mods becoming obsolete, you'll have to make a quick run to the Gunsmith, who will take your old mods and trade them for components to make new ones
energy and heavy weapon mods will no longer act as a way to change the element of a given weapon
These new mods will be less about cooldown reductions and more about changes you'll notice right away
A few mods Cotton was able to reveal to us were: Icarus Grip (which improves your weapon's accuracy while airborne), Radar Tuner (which decreases the time it takes for your radar to return after you're done aiming your weapon), and Targeting Adjuster (which grants your weapon better target acquisition)
mods will also be harder to acquire, but when you get one you like, it should feel like you're making a weapon your own
These changes also apply to raid weapons, which will use the same mod system, but also have access to unique raid mods
interesting video on the heavy weapon ammo not dropping from yellow bars bug.
Basically the deal is it'll get confused if you get an assist, so either deliver the final blow or don't shoot him at all. If you deal any damage to the enemy health bar (not counting their shields) but don't get the kill, nothing will drop. But if you stay next to an ally or the enemy and don't damage the enemy at all, the ammo will drop despite not having killed him.
Basically in between the major expansions (starting last weekend) people noticed a named enemy appearing during a certain public event on Io. People killed him which spawned a blight that would transport your fireteam into a lost sector with a 20 minute timer. In that lost sector they found another blight that would open up a hole beneath it when it was destroyed. That led to a Vault of Glass sized jumping puzzle with 3 rooms that have a bunch of enemies. Beating the 3 bosses in the final room rewarded the Whisper of the Worm which is the Black Spindle but with the original Black Hammer perk where three precision hits refills the magazine for free instead of pulling from your reserves like Black Spindle. Also finishing, it unlocked a heroic version on your map where you can try it at light 400 to get an exotic ship and maybe more, we'll see.
Whisper of the Worm is the new version of the Black Spindle/Black Hammer from the original Destiny. It's only obtainable through a mission that's active on the weekends. The mission has a pretty decent jumping puzzle that leads to a series of rooms with lots of enemies. That last room has 3 tough bosses that have to be cleared before time runs out. You have 20 minutes to clear the whole mission. Getting the Polaris Lance helps on the mission, especially killing the bosses in the last room. It's one of those missions that will take several tries just so you can practice the jumping puzzle and leaving as much time as possible for clearing enemies.
