His interception total means nothing. I refuse to hold the INTs against him where he made a perfect throw and the reciever tossed it to a DB. And there have been quite a few of those. If you ignore those (and you should), we would not be having this conversation and his numbers would look great.Aggies1322 said:PatAg said:Except for the vast majority of the time where he doesnt do that.$240 Worth of Pudding said:
While true, he's also got a chronic case of the yips. He throws the ball too high A LOT. At some point it stops being the yips and starts being who he is.
They guy didn't play in like 5 games and led the NFL in interceptions. That's bad. That's very very bad. He isn't good and we will likely never win anything with him as our QB. I hope I'm wrong, but doubt I am.

Since Week 14 vs Houston, the Cowboys rank 31st in 1D runs with 2.91 per carry (75 carries for 218 yards) - only are better than the Jets.

elite defense and absolutely loaded at the skill positions. All I do is Nguyen said:
The only reason the 49ers have done as well as they have is their defense is ELITE. If they had a mid tier defense they wouldn't be nearly as successful as they have been. Granted Purdy has to make throws but their OC has designed game plans to help him and not expose his weaknesses. Almost wish we had someone like that...
I couldn't tell you the exact number, but I would guess 4 or 5. I know there was another one where Gallup fell down and the ball went right to the defender. I guarantee you if those were caught like they should be, he would have at least a couple more touchdown passes and fewer interceptions. His stats would better reflect the kind of season he has had.Aggies1322 said:Yellerjacket said:His interception total means nothing. How many, exactly, are on the wide receivers and not Dak? 3, 4, 5? I'm curious.

Per @NextGenStats

Noah Brown finished the season with 2.3 yards of average separation. That ranks T-117th out of 121st eligible WR’s/TE’s.
Michael Gallup is at 2.4. Which ranks T-116th out of 121.
Not everyone is a separator, but they also rank 103rd and 112th in catch %.
Need a serious upgrade this off season. I don't want to give up on Gallup because it could be lingering effects of his injury, but let's face it, he was replaceable BEFORE the injury, as well.Macarthur said:

That's really not true. There have been an extraordinary number of passes tipped and or bounce off receivers that have been intercepted.
To your point, a QB is dependent upon someone on the other end of a completion. So to simply say there's no such thing as INTs that are not the QBs fault is kinda silly.

I'm not saying all those picks are the QB's fault. I'm saying that happens to every QB across the league. So it's not fair to say "well Dak had 4 or 5 interceptions that were the receivers fault and not Dak's fault" … you could watch all of Brady's, or Mahomes', or Rodgers' picks and you would find several that are the receiver's fault. You just didn't watch all those throws like you did Dak's.

This is the case for every QB on every team. Just like the team's record, you are what your record says you are. Same for a QB's stats.
Don't forget...Tony came through in Green Bay, but got robbed by the replay officials.Kellso said:
I'm a Dak fan and supporter....but his legacy is on the line Monday night.
Right now....he's just Tony Romo 2.0
He's pretty good....certainly capable of beating the bad and average teams. Dak and Romo could pull an upset or two a year....but neither has really come through when it mattered in the post season.

It's possible (maybe probable), but if it happened, people would still be saying Tony couldn't win the big game. He did all he could in that big game on the road and he doesn't get any credit for it.DannyDuberstein said:
The Dez play happened with 4:42 left in the game. With a TD, Dallas would have gone for 2 and been up either 1 or 3. GB killed the last 4:08. I've always assumed Rodgers would have brought GB back for the win anyway

No one wants to remember that game. Nightmare fuel, but as one poster said above, Dak has a real chance to right-some-wrongs this NFL weekend. I don't know if I would personally say he is better than Romo just by beating a pretty average Bucs team, but he can go along way to save not only himself, but the whole team some grief by having a good game. And honestly, I think this game is squarely on his shoulders barring some egregious coaching decision or atrocious defensive outing. Dak has to get it done, no matter what.
