Is Trevor Knight available?

The only thing I can think of is that they know Gallup and Washington are coming back so if they could get by for a couple of games until they get back, they would be okay.Clever Username said:
Still can't believe Jerry didn't do something about the WR situation. Ceedee Lamb is not a #1 WR, just a complimentary guy.
Why does tanking make sense if you presumably have to give up one of those really nice picks for Payton?Txhuntr said:
I'm beginning to actually believe the tank job this season was on the moment Payton stepped down in New Orleans. There's no way the front office thought this wr corps was going to be serviceable with the first games of the 2018 season still fresh in everyone's mind.

I guess Payton is more respected around the league while McCarthy, perhaps unfairly, is seen as a fat sloth who was carried by Rodgers.jr15aggie said:Grapesoda2525 said:Why does tanking make sense if you presumably have to give up one of those really nice picks for Payton?Txhuntr said:

That's what I keep going back to. Gonna really suck if we have a top 10 pick and then ship it to NO.
And someone made a good point the other day... why would we trade draft picks for Payton, we already have one of those (one of those meaning a coach that had a lot of wins and 1 super bowl while having one of the greatest QBs of all time at his disposal).
Glad someone else said this first. I think Payton is a great coach, but you really want to go forward with someone who is retired after a long and successful career? Find someone young with a crazy work ethic, a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.Quote:

QBs are rarely ever 'worth' what the market says you have to pay them. Where they screwed up was waiting to pay him. Could have had him for around $30m but they waited and it cost them $40m.Jarrin' Jay said:
That puts him in the top 25%. There are not just 7 NFL QBs better than Dak, there are at least 10-12, he is overpaid. I get it, he is good enough, and in a QB driven league you either have a QB or you don't, but Dak was not worth the $$.
Strategic long term planning is not a strong suit of Jerry.
As has been said, Dallas need Gallup back. Right now all of their weapons are between the hashes and short-mid range. Lamb, Zeke, Pollard & Schultz. When Rush came in most of his throws were to the outside WRs near the sidelines. Part of that might be it is harder to be intercepted but I suspect that it was also the coordinators observing that TB had way too many bodies in the middle of the field.duck79 said:
I don't disagree with anything you said, I just feel like Dak is the least of the evils. If you are going to get a new QB and still have fantasies that Tyron will be healthy, trot out UDFA at WR, let Kellen be the OC and think Zeke is still an all pro then that QB won't be successful anyway.
What teams have good offenses without the investment in WR?duck79 said:
Gallup is a quality receiver but he shouldn't be the key to the entire offense opening up.
I look at what other teams have done on offense without spending huge money on multiple receivers and I just feel that Moore is the biggest issue. There just doesn't seem to be any adjustments to his players strengths. Dak is no Mahomes but I feel he is definitely in the 8-12 range and an OC should be able to work with that.
