Talarico tries to fix his black voter problem by supporting slavery reparations now. So brave.
Quote:

Texas Senate candidate James Talarico is now endorsing reparations for slavery to black people as the Democrat continues to be haunted by allegations of racism first hurled against him during the final weeks of his primary campaign against Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., Texas).

Claiming Texas still suffers from the "reverberations of slavery," Talarico threw his support behind reparations for black people during a town hall event, saying he would enact tuition relief, homeownership, and baby bonds for black people to help build generational wealth. The move comes at a fraught time for the Texas Democrat as recent polling shows he's struggling to shore up support from the black community and comes one day after he was dressed down by an angry voter who declared that black people don't trust him.

"Reparations, repairing past harms, is part of my faith tradition. It's part of the values I was raised with," Talarico told an audience of mostly black people on Monday. "Until we, as a society, are committed to restoring those past wrongs, of restoring our black communities, we're never going to be able to get this country back on track … if we win Texas with a room that looks like this, that is going to be an earthquake in American politics. It will transform the politics of this country and allow us to build the political will to repair those past harms."

Every single day he says something even more pathetic.

If I'm a democrat, I'm staying in the middle and keeping everyone guessing for the most part. They haven't learned the world doesn't want this far left stuff but yet they keep bringing it. Better hope Ol Paxton keeps his mouth in check and doesn't pull a Clayton Williams….

I guess their love affair with far left ideas outweighs actually wining an office

The problem the dems have is that the most rabid, engaged, and energetic portion of their base is the extreme left whackos, mostly AWFLs and college kids. They fervently believe in all of the whacko stuff the dems are into these days. But the rest of the coalition any dem needs to build if they ever want to take a statewide office in Texas is by and large moderate to conservative, including the hispanic and black voting blocs when it comes to things like trans kids and such. So Talarico is trying niche positions on crap like reparations to appeal to the middle in those groups without sending the rabid left completely off the reservation and it isn't going to work in the long run.

I grew up around this neighborhood in the 70's - opposite side of IH35 off of Rundberg. It's a ghetto now. My old neighborhood and this one - a little over 1-2 miles away.

My dad bought that house new in 1970 for approx $19k. It was a great neighborhood to grow up in. It wasn't bad back in the 70's. It was safe enough for us to run around. We used to walk up to Lanier HS to go swimming - there was a city pool on Peyton Gin. We walked down Lamar. Some of the things we did back then you would never let kids do today.

I left in 1979 - I was a kid. I went through it in 1990 before the tu/A&M football game to check the place out and it was bad. It's even worse now.

Yet the numb nuts in the audience cheer him. They don't get it at all.
As a side note it really pisses me off when a police officer or retired officer votes democrat. They're literally voting for violence against their brothers and sisters in blue by doing so.

Amazing how those that call Paxton a liar and fraud always seem to overlook the mountain of evidence like this about Talarico.

The dude straight up lied to that audience with everything he said to them about this case.

Beto 2.0 is going to get beat.

And Dan Abrams - one of the original Court TV folks - is no MAGA, or Paxton supporter or Republican. He's no fan of Trump. But he calls Talarico out for spewing blatant lies about a case - and tries to create a narrative that cops in Texas are bad. Goes so far in telling those cops they should sue Talarico. That is the Dem that is gonna turn Texas blue?!?!

Texas Opinion Research has a known leftist bias. They've had the Democrat always ahead in the Senate race since the start, whether it was Paxton/Cornyn vs. Crockett/Talafreko.

It is also run by Democrat strategist Luke Warford, who has close ties to Talafreko.

Same crap these pollsters pull in Texas every 2 years.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. Luke Warford is not even the DSA-Dem "B" team, more like the D or E.
Quote:

Texas Democrats are betting they could win their first statewide election in three decades by ousting an entrenched Republican incumbent from a seat on a confusingly named regulatory commission no one has heard of that oversees the oil and gas industry.

The man to pull off what would be a seismic upset is a relatively recent arrival to the Lone Star State, a Rhode Island native who bounced between London, New York City, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Ethiopia before settling in Austin. Luke Warford wants to become a member of the Texas Railroad Commission and thereby a sheriff for the state's storied oil industry.

Slim and bespectacled, with a stylish swoop of wavy hair, the first-time candidate doesn't exactly look the part. By his own admission, "people look at me and they ask about the Green New Deal and AOC."

His history of fails will not be interrupted by his 'work' to popularize talafreako. "Consultant," LOL.

Talarico needs 90 percent of the black vote to have a chance.
Quote:

According to The New York Times, U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockettwho ran against Talarico in the primarysecured over 86 percent of the votes from predominantly Black areas.

I think it's laughable folks think that set of voters is going to turn out for him in November. He literally only got 14 percent of them in the primary, and she's for all intents and purposes campaigning against him.

I assume it will be a close vote but Paxton is unbelievably unpopular in a way even Cruz isn't. He has baggage. And it is a non presidential mid term which Republicans are terrible at

If Talarico were to win, how much soul searching does the Texas Republican Party have to do?

I firmly believe that Talarico is going to win. People are underestimating how many "moderates" and normal soccer moms are being fooled by his act at the surface...the generic feel-good slop he is masking everything with..."we need to be kind and love others etc etc".

I know CONSERVATIVE women who are falling for it...and have to be told what a heretical and degenerate freak he is and what exactly he supports. When you tell them that he wants biological males in their daughters' sports, locker rooms, and showers, they think you are crazy, because their media outlets don;t tell them this.

It is literally just right winged social media accounts and influencers bringing this to light...who only people like us follow.

Beto didn't pretend to be a devout Christian who went to seminary. Brace yourselves...I pray to God I am wrong.

If we're being honest, he also looks like a sleaze...or a crook...even if that's not fair. While Talarico has this "harmless" howdy-doody looking face and is always smiling. Really worried about this one.

Let's be honest too, Paxton has more publicly detailed moral failings in his multiple affairs and impeachment trials. And liked you highlighted above, the press has no problem airing his stuff and keeping Talarico's dirty laundry on the down low

Yep...I wish policy mattered to most Americans now, but that wen't out the window for most of them long ago. All about the feels now...and media has been constantly sunshine pumping Talarico. Can't tell you how many middle-upper income moms I know who think he is some pious preacher...they know NOTHING about what he supports. Or that he thinks there are siz genders and that God is non-binary etc etc.

Meanwhile, they are airing everything on Ken Paxton...and it does not help at all that he looks like a legit movie villain.

Paxton was selected by MAGA because Trump said so, and Trump has cost the GOP more than a handful of winnable Senate seats in the past 10 years by backing poor to downright ****ty candidates.

That is where the blame would lie more than with the Texas GOP.

He's not unbelievably unpopular with a majority of Republican voters in Texas. Just those in the Cornyn wing that are still upset that he beat JC so badly in the runoff. Most Texans will go to the polls and vote Republican, if for nothing else than to keep Talarico and his hard left politics out of Washington.
