The issue isn't guns. The issue is what caused this person to become so heartless that he could take the lives of 14 children and a teacher. We need to pray for the souls of the deceased and their loved ones.
Yes and no. I own firearms and am against more gun regulation or control as that generally only hurts and restricts responsible gun owners. However, you need to realize and understand this is just part of the price we pay for living in a gun culture society / country. Mass shootings do not happen in any other 1st world country, Europe, Asia, etc. with any level of frequency other than the USA . I have never heard of a mass killing spree with a baseball bat, kitchen knife, tree trimmer, bowling ball, etc., etc., etc.
Guns don't kill people, people kill people, but guns make it much easier and efficient to do so.
T&P for all the victims and families affected. And I hope this P.O.S. is dead by the end of the month.

Over the 20 years from 1998 to 2017, our list contains 2,772 attacks and at least 5,764 shooters outside the United States and 62 attacks and 66 shooters within our country. By our count, the US makes up less than 1.13% of the mass public shooters, 1.77% of their murders, and 2.19% of their attacks. All these are much less than the US's 4.6% share of the world population. Attacks in the US are not only less frequent than other countries, they are also much less deadly on average. Out of the 101 countries where we have identified mass public shootings occurring, the United States ranks 66th in the per capita frequency of these attacks and 56th in the murder rate.
Not only have these attacks been much more common outside the US, the US's share of these attacks has declined over time. There has been a much bigger increase over time in the number of mass shootings in the rest of the world compared to the US.

Over the 20 years that we studied, we find 2,772 attacks outside the United States, with at least 5,764 killers and 30,993 killed. The US makes up less than 1.13% of the mass public shooters, 1.77% of their murders, and 2.19% of their attacks. These results show that the U.S. clearly has fewer mass public shootings and murders from these attacks than the average rate for the rest of the world.

Amazing that after all these years of mass shootings at schools the administrators have not hardened the schools.
Ok for teachers to stay home and pay them, ok to spend billions on masks, plexiglass shields, reconfigure the buildings etc. but no money for security. Ok to spend money on so called fake asylum seekers from all over the world. Give them formula, free phones, health services, transportation, etc. but no money for real security.
My friends, be aware of who you vote for. Your life depends on it.

These type of weapons have been around for decades, mass shooting have objectively shot up much more recently. It's obviously something else that is the lion's share of the problem given this disconnect.

Once a year we do an active shooter scenario on campus before classes begin in august with local PD and sheriffs office.
It's incredibly realistic with an officer dressed in whatever to represent a shooter, armed and comes in firing blanks. They use theater students who are in costumes and make up to represent wounds and blood. Kids run around screaming and falling to show they've been hit and meanwhile teachers in rooms are graded by police in how they respond. All of this is going on while the shooter is firing.
I'm an infantry combat veteran, Iraq/Afghanistan and the first time i saw this it was stunning.
Some teachers don't participate because it is realistic and it is incredibly sad we do it but if it helps people react in a situation i pray to god never happens…….it's worth it.

So hard to comprehend. As an educator and a dad of two elementary kids this is just my worst nightmare. I'll never understand why someone could be driven to do this.

Not ironically there have been at least 28 school shootings this year, so being within 10 days of one is not all that odd.
