Had tickets for last night's ELO show in Phoenix, bought 'em back in March when they first went on sale. Been looking forward to it since, particularly since it's supposedly their last tour ever.
Drive the roughly hour to downtown Phx for the show, have dinner somewhere with the wife, and then drive to the parking garage next to the Footprint Center for the show. When we pull up to the garage there are handwritten signs saying the show had been cancelled/postponed due to a bandmember illness. I'm assuming it's Jeff Lynne because it seems like they could get by with just about any other person being sick except him. The cancellation announcement only happened about 4-5 pm, so probably a lot of folks were already down there by the time they found out.
So effectively we drove 2 hours roundtrip, to have a salad.
Anyway the show's postponed until next Tuesday Oct 29, but I'm already going to a different show that night (Opeth), so getting refunds for the ELO tix. Blah.
