Sooo Houston gets shaft again.

PJ is on my bucket list for concerts so I guess I need a pilgrimage. Looks like they are basically playing opposite the Arctic Monkeys tour:

Friday September 15th - Arctic Monkeys @ Moody Center (Austin)
Saturday September 16th - Arctic Monkeys @ Dickies Arena (Fort Worth)

Maybe I'll have to couch surf with a Dallas friend and see both in one week

Houston getting skipped is the norm now. Pearl Jam may not return to Texas after the shows this Fall. Maybe they will. Never know with that band so you should probably take advantage while they're nearby. Got some good ones coming up the next few months:

Black Angels & Black Rebel Motorcycle Club @ Austin Psych Fest
The Mars Volta
RHCP (was gifted a ticket so that's cool)
Ryan Adams & the Cardinals
Sparta
Jimmy Eat World & Manchester Orchestra

Black Angels & Black Rebel Motorcycle Club @ Austin Psych Fest

This would be a great show. Not a fan of Black Angels last few albums but love their earlier work. Saw them a few times in 2013 and before. Great show. BRMC is also sonically a great live show.

IMO Black Angels haven't released a bad album yet and have been one of the most consistent rock bands of the last 15-20ish years. Love what they've done to help revive psychedelic music especially in Texas. They're playing Directions To See A Ghost for its 15th anniversary which should be great, and tickets for Saturday sold out this week. Glad I went the deluxe ticket route this time. I didn't come around on BRMC until later on but better later than never. Looking forward to Raveonettes and Night Beats as well.

Today I learned there are bands called Black Angels and Black Motorcycle Club or something.

Tyler Childers absolutely killed it tonight at 713 Music Hall. 2 hour set and Audio and Video production was nails.

Might have to look into the PJ shows.

*edit: buddy has an extra ticket for Pantera/Metallica at Jerry World so adding that to the calendar too!

hmmmm PJ wants to have a day off in Ft Worth, but not Austin.

Opposite of what I would guess!

Did the Tyler Childers show last night at Toyota in Irving. Put on a good show even though it was rain shortened.

Just purchased my Zach Bryan tickets for Snook in October.

Registered for all four TX dates but it absolutely kills me that they all go on sale at the same time. I sweat enough just trying to click blue dots as fast as possible for one date, let alone four for verified fan.

Anybody have a pro tip? I should know, but I think the only time I've done verified fan was PJ OKC 2020 which ended up being Sep 2022.

I sure wish I had the foresight to become a Ten Club member two days ago. And I have no idea why I haven't been one since forever.

As for upcoming shows, next week is going to be a monster:

Tuesday - Ween, Southside Ballroom (Dallas)
Wednesday - moe. - Cain's Ballroom (Tulsa)
Thursday - moe. - Echo Lounge (Dallas)
Friday - moe. - Paramount Theatre (Austin)

moe. is my favorite band in the history of music so I'm biased, but please go see them in Dallas or Austin if you like rock music. And of course WEEN speaks for itself.

The overreaction to her shows is unbelievable. I mean, you see articles like this and it seems like this is the first concert in history.

I saw it for Houston but was swamped with other things and didn't want to spend more money at the moment

I'll look later and see how seats look.

I went to Taylor at NRG last night. My third time to see her. I saw Speak Now tour @ Minute Maid and 1989 tour @ Minute Maid.

Listen, I've been to a ton of concerts in my day but as far as a SHOW that was unrivaled. I mean simply amazing. The level of detail in stage design, set design, audio/video, and performance was the best I've ever seen. She played for 3 hr and 15min straight. Only breaks were the video interludes in between the eras. I've loved her for a long time. This indie music snob has no shame in my game for T Swizzy. No matter your opinion on her music, that girl has talent, a firm vision and knows how to execute it.

Just an incredible show.

My wife said the lighted wrist bands added a neat aspect to the concert that made the fans part of the light show.

Saw TSwift on Saturday night. Wife bought tix a week ago, so well over face, but after the show she said they were absolutely worth it.

I'm no big fan of hers, but she has a number of catchy tunes, and as Jim01 said, she put on a helluva show for well over 3 hours. She came on Saturday night around 7:45pm, the show wrapped just before 11:30pm. It was a spectacle of entertainment.

I will say the high-pitched shrieking from all of the women in the crowd seemed to drown out the music at times, and believe me when I say the music was LOUD. But it was fun!

That might have been the best produced/executed concert I've seen in my half-decade of living. I didn't think Coldplay could be topped after seeing them last year in Dallas...but holy balls there's a lot that went into that show last night.

Like you said, regardless if you like her music, Swift knows what she's doing and has the talent to back it up. Much respect to what she's been able to do. From the moment my ears burst from thousands of teenage screams (and maybe my wife's) that show was a non-stop hit parade for over 3 hours. The look on my daughter's face when the first note dropped was worth the price of admission alone.

This is where you and I differ.

I have two sons and wife that has zero interest in TS.

Therefore, I have no interest. but I totally get the connection when a spouse or kids have it. Hell I took my kids to a live PJ mask play when they were 3ish/4ish... just as you say, the look on their faces.

Saw Hoobastank in El Paso this weekend. Had a blast. Felt like I was back in High School.
