I guess that means I'm right? It just seemed sorta obvious to me. I guess I sorta spoiled myself coming back here. I will now no longer even talk about that particluar topic on that thread anymore.

I honestly never played the game. I have never owned an X-Box or PS-anything. I don't even own/use a Windows computer at home at all anymore. My daily computer is a EndeavourOS (Linux). The last games I played was Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam. You can search my entire TexAgs history and never see a reference to me playing any game at all (other than possibly those 2).

And I'm not the type of guy who watches a show, and pretends to "guess right". I guessed all sorts of stuff on other shows and have basically been wrong 99% of the time.

I'm going to stay away from this thread now that it's open spoiler season here.

No you're wrong.

Probably a good call. I was respecting the thread separation by posting your quote here. Also, Ellie succumbs to the infection and eats Joel.

yup it'll be great to see their reactions when they realize this is the beginning of the video game multiverse hinted at in the first game

I think one of the big concerns going in was what were they going to add to the story and how would it work. Both pre-title sequences have been PERFECTION. The information was great, the scenes were tense as HELL and perfectly done.

Personally I'd say wrap your other post in a spoiler tag. That's the reason I don't ever read TV show threads (this is an exception since I've played the game). I hate theory talk because if a theory is right it is effectively a spoiler. Some people like just talking about the episode and might not want to read theories.

Just my 2 cents.

Honestly, a lot of those frequenting that thread deserve it if the poster in question truly knows what's happening

Never seen so much pretentious ******baggery on this board until that thread activity
Prediction, someone on that thread ends up spoiling key point plots before the gamer thread does. Even with two separate threads everyone here seems keen on using spoiler tags. This to me reinforces how special that game is, none of the gamers wants to ruin the experience for the non-gamers. But someone on that thread will end up choosing violence and ruining everything, chaos ensues.
im just doing it cause I know inevitably someone on the non gamer thread will accidentally click this one instead….
I've only played the first game, so I would greatly appreciate anyone with TLOU 2 spoilers to continue to use spoiler tags.

Another great episode. Absolutely nailed the clickers. A little disappointed we didn't get them in the tilted building, but guessing that would have been too difficult to film. Thought the changes to Tess's death were well done. Looking forward to seeing Bill next week.

Really interesting hearing the approach they took in changing the spread for the screen, and it seems like a solid change. Most interested to see if they include the descent through the building with Abby from TLOU2 and how that changes with it. That part was such a nerve wracking experience to play (was completely dreading it on my second playthrough) and hope they find a way to have it.

Now that the show is out, I'm definitely considering playing TLOU 2. I came to the first one many years late (I just played it probably two years ago). I did enjoy the game, but I found the game play repetitive. Every level was essentially the same thing. Sneak around, stab someone, sneak some more, shoot someone, maybe pull a pallet around, etc. I had just played the first three Uncharted games, then TLOU. Although, I do love all those games, they are all basically the same thing as far as game play is concerned. I needed a break from that kind of game so I passed on TLOU 2. I'm probably ready to pick that kind of game up again, though.

Agreed. I remember overall the gameplay being a lot more intense in TLOU 2. There's one segment where I was just as tense and nervous as I was playing Alien: Isolation.

It's good.

As others have said, please pick up TLOU2 if you have any time to kill at all. The game play in the Uncharted series is superior imo (but much different as you know) and I even love that story even though the movie was garbage. This show is off to such a great start and I promise you'll love playing 2. Replayed it for a bit the other night and had forgotten just how excellent it is. .

Finally got around to watching episode 2. Holy crap this is a great start!

I really hope they do a beginning like Indonesia everytime….it would do so much more for the world building and general story…that whole beginning segment was very suspenseful!

And the clickers were perfect! Just perfect! The respect for the source material is showing through very well so far.

Really curious about episode 3. For starters, I didn't know there was a preview for episode 3 at the end of episode 2….was just fast forwarding the credits out of MCU habit and boom there's a preview….

I figured Bill was going to show up in 3 but curious this part will go. In game you needed Bill to help get parts to get a vehicle up and running so you could drive Ellie to Tommy….figure the show will be relatively the same but can see them expanding a lot on Bills planning/paranoia because it certainly seems like he's got a lot more traps setup in the show than in game from the preview….

good breakdown of episode 2....specifically all the little nuances they put in going back to episode 1 and hinting at how the infection spread so quickly and how it avoided our characters....really shows how much thought they put in to this....

this is a safe video to watch for those that haven't played TLOU 2 yet (i know theres a few) but he does hint at a type of infected that show up in the second game but he's good to give you enough of a heads up on game spoilers that are only at the end and in the last few minutes....

also keep in mind if you haven't played TLOU 2 and like others have said start watching these videos you will inevitably get a video suggestion that could have thumbnail spoilers

did i hear right in the episode that Frank is with Bill? If so my guess is that it's going to be another character to give backstory to Joel's troubled past....i also think this means whoever Frank is....he's a dead duck....

Frank's backstory is pretty well told in environmental clues and pickups in the game, so I wouldn't say it's that big of a diversion. They're just fleshing it out for the screen.

Frank's backstory is told plenty in game but they have admitted they are doing something different with him. Plus you don't have a named cast member play a dead guy hanging from a ceiling fan.

I am scratching my head at the freak out that supposedly someone was spoiled because they thought someday Ellie would be revealed to be invisible to the clickers because she already was bitten

In the same ****ing episode Ellie was bitten (again)

aTmAg starting the freak out is interesting considering the soft spoiler he posted earlier in the thread. After watching the first two episodes on Sunday, I went and read the general overall plot summary for the first game. Figured it would be spoiled anyways, and so far the way the show is telling the story and the showing the pre/post world is interesting enough that I would rather know the end and see how they get there.

Mainly a XBox and PC player, so probably will not play the games unless they come over to gamepass

The other thread is funny. They are so paranoid about spoilers, that they basically don't want any talk about the actual show. Honestly, I don't think TLOU is really a spoiler type of show. The story is good, but it's not like Game of Thrones. You're not going to be shocked at the end of each episode.

Yep, what sucks is there are users on that thread we like posting with, but there's a contingent of gatekeepers on there hellbent on accusing everyone of spoilers, and telling people to **** off, calling people dip****s, etc.

In retrospect this might be grosser than what happened at the end of episode 2. The combination of that song and Tom Cruise making out with a giant hasn't aged well.
