I would agree this seems to be just about the most superficial reason possible to not look forward to this. The pedigree of who they've lined up for this show is staggering. I don't care about what the actors look like, or where they're from, or where in the country they base the story (they are in several places throughout the games). The video games are primarily about Joel and Ellie, if they nail that relationship, everything else should work.TCTTS said:

If they are truly following the first game in season one, then episode one is going to be really emotional and gutting. Casting Joel is the toughest in my opinion specifically because they need an actor that sucks you in from episode one, it's going to set the entire tone for the show. In the game I think they start out in central Texas when it starts, can't remember if it's the greater Austin or San Antonio area, but I could see people here in particular taking offense that they cast someone that isn't Texas enough, but I really don't care.
