It's being discussed on the other thread….to confirm there will be a third game and as of now it'll be released in 2026….with the 2nd game being broken up into 2 seasons this'll mean HBO will have time to develop the 3rd game into a 4th season at minimum as long as time tables don't change too bad….

Cause we all know how video game releases can get delayed

But I'm not sure I'd share that over there….hence posting it here…

Those guys would throw a fit at the mention of a second game existing.

Confirmed where? From everything I've seen, there's no confirmation they're even working on one. They probably are, given the success of 2, but nothing has officially been announced.

With Druckmann being so involved in the filming of the show, I'd have a hard time imagining anything more than preproduction and tech work happening right now. Given the amount of animation work alone that would need to go into a third game (not to mention the fire Naughty Dog came under for crunch culture for Part 2), I'd say 2026 is optimistic.

I'm laughing so hard about the other thread's spoiler *****ing in regards to someone saying the characters are leaving Boston despite the show already having talked about heading West to meet up with another character and had trailers showing the main characters in snowy mountain terrain.

It's wild, man. The whole thing about episode 1 was getting to a radio tower in Wyoming. I said something about there being two games and even that bit of practical knowledge seemed to at least jokingly cross a line. Ain't no fun.

Like I didn't read any of the GRRM books, but I still Googled how many books there were in the series.

Was this how the non-book readers thread was like for GOT?

theoretically all we know is that they are headed to bill and Frank. Logically you would think they would travel west to find Tommy but I guess that is a spoiler.

The only miserable people are the losers in that thread. Apparently paying ****ing attention to context clues are a spoiler

I'm just glad someone finally pointed out that it's pretty hard to not go west from Boston if you're on foot

no. the ******s in the other thread have taken it to a whole other level.
It's ridiculous. Jumping down the throats of people who said, hey I played the beginning of the game but never finished it. Probably didn't get far past what we have already seen.

the absoltuely stupidest thing of all is there is NO GREAT BIG MYSTERY to season 1.

it is a literal road trip. interspersed with encounters with people, military and fungi-monsters.

I can't wait till we get to the end and point and laugh at the little things they freaked out about that didn't matter.

But to any of you little *******s sneaking in on this thread, I can't wait until you see the giraffe scene.

Zombie Giraffe? Pet Giraffe? Toysrus store? Wait and see

Was thinking about it, there was quite a bit of it on the HoD thread. Still a whole other level here, but they eventually did split out a book readers thread because of it.

Yeah, but there are some parts that are definite spoilers and we should be cautious when posting, like when Joel has to Te eam dolorem nominavi repudiandae, ei vix dicam molestiae, iuvaret discere scripserit eu per.

Anybody over here actually discussing the show? That other thread is a ****show. An entertaining one, but still a ****show. It's at like 10 pages and there's probably half a dozen posts actually about the show

ok maybe not hardcore confirmed but here's something

The Last of Us 3: Waiting For The Sequel

A third game in the series seems to be in active production now. This was claimed by famed and reliable leaker @ViewerAnon, who has revealed several scoops before. According to them, The Last of Us 3 is in production and will be Neil Druckmann's next game.

It will still take a while until we will finally see the game. Naughty Dog has several other titles in development (see more on that further below), and continuing the story after Part 2 will be extremely difficult.

Neil Druckmann revealed last year that it was trickier to find the emotional core of the story in Part 2 than in The Last of Us Part I due to the experiences and previous knowledge of the players. So it will be even more difficult to grab the fans emotionally and to bring innovations in The Last of Us Part 3.

The original Last of Us was released in 2013 and Part II was released 7 years later in 2020, so we imagine a third game would take around the same time. We think 2026 at the earliest for a release. We have to be patient a little longer. But it's still fun to speculate, so let's do that!

pretty much yeah....discussing the show and laughing at people like Chuck over on the other thread....

I'm calling my shot for the third episode intro/cold open.....airplane or airport scene showing how the infection was able to spread quickly out of Indonesia before the city was bombed

Any ideas on if we find out why Joel moved to Boston? Is it just going to be that he floated around and ended up in Boston? Or are we going to find out that Texas got nuked?

my hope is the cold opens go deeper and deeper into everything that went wrong with trying to preserve the infection and then showing the aftermath of it a bit…..and if they can work in giving a little backstory on explaining how Joel made it to Boston that'd be cool

Just got caught up on the other thread… Wow. I question why that thread even exists. They don't even want to discuss the last episode because it might spoil something. And that guy who couldn't figure they are headed West? Does he realize there are zombie like people in the show?

Given the way Druckmann has talked about it, I'd still say pre-production. You'll have artists working on concept, production building roadmaps, writers working on the script, maybe a dedicated team building out prototypes and evaluating any new tech they'll need, stuff like that. Once Factions finishes, you'll probably have a live team remain there building content while the bulk shifts over to begin working on TLOU3 in earnest.
