TLOU2 is also visually improved imo over TLOU1.
Humblebrag incoming to show how much more I've enjoyed TLOU2 after thoroughly loving the first… I've spent 240 hours in TLOU2, including 5 playthroughs with one of those on grounded mode (no perma death though). I'll play through it another time in 2023.
TLOU1 I've got 165 hours, with 3 playthroughs and a lot of that time on the Factions multiplayer mode when that was live.
I already know I'm going to play way too much of the new multiplayer mode when it comes out.
I had problems with TLOU2 because of you know what. I felt it was a betrayal of everything they had built with the great story in TLOU. I know I'm not alone. So much emotional investment treated . . . Not as well as they could have.
I actually hated playing one of the characters. You know. When you identify with a 1st person character in a game, you are more invested in keeping them safe. I wanted that character to get what's coming. It was difficult ultimately to ever get past the "thing", and those who've played it know what I'm talking about.
After things went the way they did, I only really enjoyed playing the other character who had earned the way into my heart.
I know that's not an original take, but TLOU ( version 1) trumps TLOU2 based on emotional satisfaction at the end.
Just my take. But I know I'm not alone. Still.
