Nike Town and the Meridian 16 theaters right there are both closing within the next month.

They truly were The Last of Us.
Seriously? I watched more than a few premiers at Meridian 16

You miss it?

We're thinking about moving up there in the next couple years. California right now, but will probably want a change of pace soon

Episode 2 was great!
They nailed the dread with the clickers. Really hope we get more of them

As a non gamer what makes the clickers different from the normal infected and how'd they develop that way? Looks like they can't just be shot in the head like the infected and have they have certain weak points. Enjoyed so episode 2!

In the game, it implies there are different progression stages of infected, and it also depends on if an infected lives where spores are present

With clickers, the fungus has enveloped their head and taken out their eyes, so they can only find you through echolocation

They are much more resilient than the runners and require more damage. You can one shot kill them in the game if you make a perfect headshot, either with a bow or a rifle

I hope this doesn't turn out to be another Walking Dead. If so, I'm out.

If the rest is as good as these first 2 episodes, I'm confident it won't be

They've already implied they won't be milking this like "other universes"

As soon as they got the water I yell..."go find a pallet!"

Also they absolutely nailed it on the clickers

Really enjoyed it. They nailed the clickers- I read that was Neil's directorial debut.

The set pieces look fantastic. I liked the spores vs neural explanation in the BTS. The embellished openers have been really good! My non gamer friend said "damn, they(clickers) take a lot of shots..."

If you only knew

Thought the clickers were awesome! They transferred over so well to TV and are even better than they were in the game. So intimidating and REAL.

The clickers were incredible and the episode was great. Really nailed the stealth aspect of the game.

Only gripe I have is I'm not a big fan of the hive mind stuff. That's kind of silly even though they tried to legitimize it in the after the show segment. Not a huge deal though.

Reminded me a bit of World War Z.

I loved the clicker scenes. I really hope they get good screen time throughout this season. I'll be a bit disappointed if tonight's the most we get from them

I forget which part of TLOU1 had the gigantic bloater infected. There was the one at the college, but there was also the one you had to fight with the shotgun

There are 3 bloaters in the game.

Bill's town high school, college, and Ellie's winter chapter.

Just kidding, there's also some in Salt Lake City.

Another great episode. I thought the opening in Indonesia was incredibly chilling and so well done. The museum set piece was also a perfect recreation from the game. Some minor changes from the game involving the state house and Tess's death, but nothing detrimental. I don't think they want to overwhelm the viewers with Joel and Ellie vs nameless humans. I'm guessing all human interactions, good and bad, will have more built in than a lot of what's in the game, and that's smart. Don't waste time fighting humans they can't explain the motivations of. The hive mentality of the infected I also think is genius. I'm loving every minute of what they've done so far. Another episode ends with me asking "it's already over? But we just got started."

My original thought was that they were going to end it in Colorado. But I think I heard them say in an interview or article the first season would encompass the entire first game.
To me it made sense to end the first season at the university. I thought the penultimate episode would be in Wyoming when Joel helps Tommy defend the power plant. That had all the markings to be a classic HBO episode before the season finale. Then in the finale have Joel and Ellie at the research facility at the university where they thought their journey would end. The last episode could end with a cliffhanger when Joel falls and is injured. The audience wouldn't know whether or not he's going to live from that injury.

Just watched it. Very, very happy with the direction the show is going and the additions/changes the showrunners are making from what was in the game. Makes a ton of sense.

Also, these are two of the best cold openings I've seen in years. Both were incredible. Informative, captivating, and best of all, terrifying.

this is a more detailed version of what i thought the first season might be....but with how long they've decided to make each episode i think it'll work great for the whole game first game to be it's own season...

haven't watched second episode yet but doing another playthrough of the first game and ive decided to play through what i expect the next episode to be in game first then watch the show....

so without watching the second episode i expected the next one to be a scare (and possibly gore) fest with that being the part of the game where the clickers are first introduced (and i don't remember there being that many of them to start the game off but dang there were)....

and even though this is the game thread just in case someone accidentally clicks here i figured this episode will end with Tess dying and them either fighting off the FEDRA military to end the episode or having episode 3 start off with that and definitely having Bill show up by the 3rd epsiode....which is also where we start to see a lot of Ellie's sassiness in game so i'm looking forward to seeing the character development on screen

From the non-gamer thread. I have serious doubts about their honesty.

Prediction, someone on that thread ends up spoiling key point plots before the gamer thread does. Even with two separate threads everyone here seems keen on using spoiler tags. This to me reinforces how special that game is, none of the gamers wants to ruin the experience for the non-gamers. But someone on that thread will end up choosing violence and ruining everything, chaos ensues.
