I was sitting on the toilet one morning, groganing out the "Hellapeo" Munchie Meal from Jack in the Box I slathered my gullet in during the previous nights' drinking session. The phone rang, startling me, but also helping me wake up a bit....

It was dark the night before. No moon, overcast, and dreary. The wind was gusting 15-20. With each gust, some branches would rake across the edge of the house, letting out a squeal as they clawed their way across the siding. Inside, it sounded like far-off screams of a woman in danger - begging from the shadows for help - hoping, waiting, fading.

My tired eyes tried to focus as I lumbered across the creaking floor, looking for my phone. Upon finding it, I thumbed at the answer button, not paying attention to who was calling. The voice on the other end was crackling, and I couldn't make out what they were saying... was it "help?" Was it "hell?" I don't know - the call dropped.

I gazed around for a moment, trying to collect my bearings. I staggered back toward where I began this journey and, HOLY *****!!!!! Right there in front of me was a most terrifying sight!

Floating in the toilet bowl was a grotesque creature - one which I'd forgot to send downstream. I thought I saw a ghost, but it was just leftovers. I flushed the toilet, and got on with the rest of my morning.

Still the most underrated post on this thread.

You mean the one where it turns out it was just somebody in a scary mask?

Not 100% certain whether I believe or not. But, I posted in this thread some years ago and my experience was enough to make me uncertain.

But, I'm pretty sure that after I die, if possible, I'd like to "come back" and mess with living people...not in a malevolent way, just sort of in a comedic/quirky way.

Redass : what church camp is that. You should tell the name so people don't send their kids there.

It happens at every church camp, so good luck with that. I have plenty of christian summer camp spiritual warfare stories. Also, have a few friends that have had first hand experiences with it.

------------
This one is pretty weak compared to summer camp stories

One of my personal experiences was during winter break one year while I was in college. My friend and I were both youth leaders in college. He went to TCU and we brought one of our friends who was an Aggie and also a non practicing Jew out to my TCU friend's property. A plot of 100 acres outside of Dallas in Wylie, Texas.

Our plan was just to hang out, make a fire, roast some hot dogs, and just catch up. We ended up getting into the discussion about our faith and was starting to get interesting Out of the side of us we hear foot steps coming from the distance. We listened and thought it was prob a skunk or a raccoon, but these footsteps sounded too similar to a humans. They got closer and closer. I grabbed the hatchet we brought for the wood, and my friends grabbed whatever was around them.

Remember these are 3 college dudes all stone cold scared of whatever was walking at us and none of us doubted that they were human steps. We were yelling at whatever was coming at us to stop, but couldn't see a thing past the line of trees by us. The steps kept coming from 100 feet or so. We all freaked and decided to throw everything in the jeep and get the hell out of there. As we were pulling away we stopped next to area we were sitting to dump water on the ashes from the car window and as we were doing that we heard a deep deep laugh come from right behind the trees.

We sped the hell out of there like a bunch of little girls in shock and went to Waffle House afterwards and pretty much had to explain to our friend that it was a clear case of warfare going on.

I'll share some summer camp stories tonight when everyone is going to bed.

This wasn't a ghost or anything paranormal, just your run-of-the-mill Wylie backwoods lake trash coming to see what you guys were doing.

Legend in my dorm has it that a dude killed himself in the shower a few years back on the third floor, two doors down from the RA's dorm. And I heard the story last semester. Where do I live this semester? On the third floor, two doors down from the RA. And I hadn't even remembered the story till now. And now I'm freaked out.
I'd be more upset about the fact that you lived in a bathroom.

My brother and sister attended A&M in the late 80s and early 90s. They lived in a townhouse that had a loft that looked over the downstairs. That was the study (had a couple of desks in it). My sister came home from class one day and heard someone upstairs rustling through papers on the desk. She thought my brother was home and called out to him. No answer. Went upstairs and no one was there. She had others incidents in the house, but the one that I remember her telling me is her waking up and having the distinct feeling someone was sitting on the bed and stroking her hair. No one there again. She finally came home one day and said out loud, "Please stop all this, you're scaring me." No more problems.

It was a generic 70s-era townhouse. Nothing old and scary that we knew of happened there before.

I had something that creeped me out last night (early this morning). I woke up in the middle of the night thinking I hear my son talking (he's 3 and in the room across the hall from us). Before I can move or say anything my wife gets up and asks if I heard that. She goes to check on him in his room, and he is fast asleep. She then goes to our daughter's room next door, and she was awake saying she heard him too. When my wife gets back to the room I checked the time. It was 3:02...meaning it happened at exactly 3:00. It woke me, my wife, and our daughter up.

Fast forward about 10-15 minutes where I'm just kind of laying in bed processing what just happened. My wife and I both hear a door open and close somewhere in the house. I jumped out of bed. Made a sweep of the whole house and nothing was out of the ordinary. Kids were sleeping. I didn't sleep anymore after that, and I got up for work around 4:30.

The house we live in was built sometime in the 70s. We've lived there for about 9 months, and nothing else like that has happened. It'll be interesting to see if anything else happens. I'm wondering if I should even mention my concerns to my wife. I haven't talked to her about it yet, but I'm thinking she kind of played it off as an overactive imagination. I don't want to freak her out by bringing it up again and saying how creepy it was.

Anybody here ever had sleep paralysis? Freakiest thing to ever happen to me and legit thought there was an invisible figure on top of me pressing down on my chest and suffocating me...

son was probably sleep talking.

however, i've seen enough movies to know that 3:00 am happenings are pure evil and doors opening\shutting are definite signs of an evil spirit. If you want it to play out just like the movies, don't tell your wife until things get really bad.

Yea is it possible that your kids, maybe your son, walks in his sleep? It happened to my brother when we were growing up. Hell, I even had a friend who's older brother would play baseball by swinging a bat in his sleep. It got to the point that they had to hide the bats from him so his subconscious mind wouldn't know where to look...

He can't quickly get in and out of his bed, and he hasn't sleep walked before. It's possible he was sleep talking and one of the 2 kids was sleep walking. However, when I went in the rooms both were sound asleep when I heard the door opening and closing. The time of the talking makes it all the more creepy.

Sounds like your house is haunted.

I'd recommend calling a priest or Bruce Campbell (perhaps both) ASAP.

In the meantime, lie a line of salt in front of your kids' bedroom doors and yours as well. I'd also invest in a wooden stake and some garlic just in case.

Screw that. I say you should go home and mock the ghost, and let it know that the house is yours, and there is nothing it can do to make you leave.

That should go over well

What about the guy that posted on this thread years ago that was an expert in spiritual warfare and personally fought off demons? He might be able to help if he's still around.

Maybe get a Ouija board and ask a few questions in the living room. If it catches fire, well, these things happen.

I hate telling this story because to this day it still really bothers me, but here it goes....

A few years ago I worked at a summer camp all summer (ill leave the name out of the story). It is a Christian camp, we (counselors) did a lot of spreading the good word to campers. It was a very spiritual place. Of course, with spirituality comes spiritual warfare....during orientation we were warned/encouraged to read through and know ephesians. People told stories about waking up in the middle of the night and having kids speaking in tongues and seeing huge black figures (that were much bigger than anyone at the camp) standing in the middle of the cabins looking at them. I didn't believe in that stuff, so I just assumed people were just screwing with us newbies to the camp. But then this happened to me.....

After working there about a month, me and some other counselors were up late having a very good bible study. We had a long prayer and left, each going in different directions. My friend and I were walking back to our cabins (he was in the one right next to me). We happened to be in between sessions this particular night, so the kids were not there. So myself and my buddy get to our cabin and we "Y" to each go to to our separate cabins (doors were separated by about 15 feet). Right as I get to my door I hear my friends door squeak open and then I hear him say "Oh My God" as he falls to his knees. I sprinted over to his door confused because the kids were not there. Right as I get to the door I see one of the steel bunk-beds that the campers sleep on being dragged from the corner of the room to the center. Like someone was standing at one end dragging it (let me remind you that NO ONE was in the room). It was dragged about six feet before it stopped being drug. Then it was chunked like someone was "hammer throwing" it across the room so violently that left the ground and slammed into another set of steel bunk-beds and bent both of the frames.

Needless to say, it was hands-down the scariest thing I've ever witnessed with my own eyes. I spent the rest of the night in the sanctuary in prayer and quit the next day....I've never been back since.
Found it.

6 years later, "spiritual warfare" still makes me laugh.

3am is the Witch's hour. You have a spell or a curse on you, my friend. I'd suggest being nicer to that weird cat lady neighbor, or apologizing to the quite girl at the office you may have offended. No joke...they can do evil things, especially if you live in a place with history and magnetism.
