This is a great thread...and I'll post my two stories to keep it going...

I saw Rebecca at the Lodge in Cloudcroft, NM. She's a 'famous' ghost, so she should be on a list somewhere.

My junior year in college I was at my then boyfriend's house. He lived in a trailer park off Leonard and 47. There used to be a lake there, but it was drained to lower property value. Back in the brush, well behind all the properties was an old deserted building, it was called the '***** House' and was apparently the favorite spot for many old gentlemen, way back in the day, in B\CS.
We had decided earlier that day to keep our wits about us and go there that night. No alcohol, no drugs, no mind altering anything...
While sitting around, playing video games a fly kept pestering us. At one point, it landed on my boyfriend's hand and wouldn't move. He fluttered his hand, he blew on the fly...all the things you'd do to get rid of it, but it just sat there, like it knew something. Finally it flew away. That was just weird...
Later on the evening we started our trek over to the '***** house'. There were flies everywhere, like we were getting closer and closer to something decaying. We made it to the building and slipped in through a windowless frame. The building was old and musty, and flies seemingly everywhere. We scanned the main room with a flashlight and investigated the side rooms. There was nothing in the building save one tattered shirt in the middle of the main room.
We sat, and waited...
and waited...
and waited...
'Did you feel that?' my then boyfriend asked, showing me his arm riddled with goosebumps.
'no'
and we waited.
All of a sudden I felt finger tips on the nape of my neck, I sat still and said 'what's behind me?'
The flashlight glared in my eyes, 'nothing's there', but the flies were thick.
The sensation got stronger and stronger and the fingertips on my neck began to feel like a palm wrapping itself around, then it felt like two hands grabbing my neck. 'What's behind me?!'
'Nothing.'
My hair got pulled and I wound up on my back on the floor, it felt like something was standing on my chest, and then the shirt started to move...
My then boyfriend stood up and grabbed my hand, 'we're leaving!' but right when he said that it looked like something knocked him off his feet. I mean his feet went up into the air and he landed with a thud on his back.
I couldn't move, I was honestly paralyzed by the thing 'sitting' on my chest. The shirt started to cover up my face and my then boyfriend stood up again and grabbed me...
He had to yank me so hard that my arm felt like it would come out of socket, it felt like being pulled out from underneath someone else. We got up and ran...jumped through the window and ran some more.
It felt like something was nipping at our heels the entire time, and when we made it back to the house, the lights were all off...we had left them on. We went inside checked the locks on all the doors and windows and sat on the couch and each drank a glass of vodka...
The rest of the night we could have sworn we heard something trying to get in. Windows getting scratched at and doorknobs jiggling.
This was the most terrifying night of my life, and it changed my perspective on 'ghosts'.
