When I was a teenager, my Dad one day disappeared. Around that time, he was involved in a really big negotiation at work that would have helped his career and the financial stability of the family... so he was always stressed out and worried about it. At any rate, the night after he disappeared, I hear his voice telling me everything is going to be OK. It was quite shocking, but I shrugged it off as just me imagining it and just being worried about my Dad.

The next night, I was in my room, in the dark... and my Dad walks through the door and again tells me everything is going to be alright. That night, my sister tripped and fell on a pair of skates that I had left on the stair case and was seriously injured. She was taken to the hospital. While there, my sister wakes up very excited. And as she is trying to tell us something, my Dad walks through the door and we all hug. You see, when my sister got injured, she had an out of body experience and found that my Dad's body was in the same hospital but was unidentified. What had happened is that my Dad was in a taxi and the taxi had plummeted off a bridge, sending my Dad into a coma. What's weird is that for the day's that he was gone, people at his office said he was at work and was working in his office on the upcoming deal. What's even weirder is that he had a scheduled medical physical for renewal of his life insurance policy... which they said he completed and passed.

As we were leaving the hospital, my Dad spots a taxi. He leans down and says to the taxi driver "go to hell, and sit on red hot coals and wait for me!". To which the taxi driver says "Yes, Evil Master!" and peels out and drives off.

holy crap your dad is bill cosby

The fall guy: my great grandfather purchased the table that Snow cut his family to pieces on. Still standing and together as of 8 years ago; it was stored in the car port closet/garage with misc. stuff. Probably still there. Sadly the house and land was sold after she passed. Stephenville tx.

Stories give me the creeps at first, but then remember Romans 8:38-39. Not a dang thing can separate you.

Spiritual warfare is real, but its an unfair battle and you can't forget that. First hand experiences will make you pray more than ever. Thanks for remaining me TxAG2014.

What's funny is that so many people that had a ghost story a while back seem to forget about it as time goes on. The clearly told story years ago often becomes, "I don't know what I saw" as time goes on.

That reminds me. I should raz my old college roomie. He and his gf at the time freaked out when crazy stuff was happening at a prof's house that they were house sitting. He said they heard laughing and breaking glass but could never locate the source of either.

I have a ghost that sucks at being a ghost in my house. Sometimes he turns lights on in the middle of the night. Sometimes he makes the walls creak. Sometimes you just feel his ghostly presence. That's about it.

It happens at every church camp, so good luck with that. I have plenty of christian summer camp spiritual warfare stories. Also, have a few friends that have had first hand experiences with it.

------------
This one is pretty weak compared to summer camp stories…

One of my personal experiences was during winter break one year while I was in college. My friend and I were both youth leaders in college. He went to TCU and we brought one of our friends who was an Aggie and also a non practicing Jew out to my TCU friend's property. A plot of 100 acres outside of Dallas in Wylie, Texas.

Our plan was just to hang out, make a fire, roast some hot dogs, and just catch up. We ended up getting into the discussion about our faith and was starting to get interesting… Out of the side of us we hear foot steps coming from the distance. We listened and thought it was prob a skunk or a raccoon, but these footsteps sounded too similar to a humans. They got closer and closer. I grabbed the hatchet we brought for the wood, and my friends grabbed whatever was around them.

Remember these are 3 college dudes all stone cold scared of whatever was walking at us and none of us doubted that they were human steps. We were yelling at whatever was coming at us to stop, but couldn't see a thing past the line of trees by us. The steps kept coming from 100 feet or so. We all freaked and decided to throw everything in the jeep and get the hell out of there. As we were pulling away we stopped next to area we were sitting to dump water on the ashes from the car window and as we were doing that we heard a deep deep laugh come from right behind the trees.

We sped the hell out of there like a bunch of little girls in shock and went to Waffle House afterwards and pretty much had to explain to our friend that it was a clear case of warfare going on.

I'll share some summer camp stories tonight when everyone is going to bed.

Just read Tex_Ag's story. That sounds way too unbelievable to be true.

You hear a loud noise, have a vision, then see claw marks and THEN get scared? None of the stuff happening before scared you?

If true, tell us more about your gift.

Tried to find my old journal because I wrote down exactly what happened the next morning. If I find it I'll edit this post with any revisions.

So I went to our end of year retreat just outside Austin, at the camp where Impact is held. Been going through some real rough patches with my ex-girlfriend from the previous story. This happened in May, previous story was in October.

We were actually having a lot of spiritual breakthroughs with a lot of people. Had about five of the people I was hanging out with accept Christ and that was a celebration! So cool. I was staying in a cabin and it was a huge open room and we had about 15 guys sleeping on bunk beds. We would stay up until the early morning talking about our faith and praying. It was a really moving experience I sincerely hope that any of you with faith (and even those of you without) will experience such a wonderful thing.

Anyway, I get woken up on the night before the last day by a guy in our little lifegroup who was standing in his bed and yelling the 23rd psalm (the Lord is my shepherd etc...). I wake up and am at first incredibly annoyed, one of those things were I would have said "John I'm glad you love Jesus but I want to sleep", but then I had one of those callings, if you want to call it that, to come over to a corner of the room on the other side.

At first I'm not doing it, and trying to get back to sleep. Then about a minute later, I get an uncontrollable urge to go over there and repeat the guardian prayer to Michael the archangel. (I'm not a catholic and don't approve of 99% of what they do, but I love that prayer.)

As I walk over to the corner, I see something. A lot of people would call it a "shadow person" but that is entirely inaccurate. It was something insidious. I could tell that it was absolute evil. It was sinister. It had no shape. The entire room was dark, but I knew it was there. It was literally darker than the surrounding dark.

Normally I'm a very good speaker. I did debate in high school and am studying communications here. I never have trouble with words. But when I started to repeat the prayer, it was kind of like how that guy got the t-rex's attention in Jurassic Park. All of a sudden, I was overcome with great fear, sorrow, and anger. It's like how JK Rowling described dementors. I fumbled and stuttered my words. I literally broke down and started crying I was so scared.

Now, remember that it is late May in central Texas. We had consistent highs in the 90's and lows in the 70's, and the cabins were not air conditioned. But it was like I stepped into a freezer in antarctica. It was so cold. The hair stood up on the back of my arms and I was shaking all over.

I went back to my bed and tried to regain my composure. At this point, everyone is up and theyre all scared. John is still reciting the psalm. I go to turn on the lights and my friend Brandon jumps down from his bed and it's like he's literally fighting something on the floor. He screams, "guys, it's trying to take over me@"

At this point, I run over, grab his shoulder and pray in my head that I might be able to help him.

In a voice that is not my own, I suddenly get like a missle lock on a corner high above us and literally roared, 'In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to leave this place and never return.'

At that point, a door opened and slammed, and the lights got brighter. Everyone was shaken up, but I prayed over the room and us and turned out the lights knowing we were safe.

Best part of this story? It happened around 3:15am.

It was my first head to head battle with something. I know you asked why I wasn't scared the second time -- I was but I knew what I was doing. I'm the kind of person who will get scared of something but 'cowboy up' so to speak and get it done. Just the way I was raised I guess.

I had one other run-in about three months before as well, but it was more of a skirmish than a battle.

We live in a world full of evil spirits. There are literally spiritual battles going on all around us.

Ghosts are usually not dead people but demons tricking us into thinking they are "ghosts".

It's great to know though that these battles can be won by our faith.
