At the camp I went to as a kid, we can hear guitars and faint singing from the top of the hill (we call Vesper Hill). When I was a kid I just thought it was from other camps in the area but going back as an adult and being up there, the music is there at all times of the day and night and it is always the exact same voice, very faint but audible. All of my adult camp friends that have been back notice it too. And it is only audible from that exact spot which is about 50 yards round at the very top of the hill.

Yellags, if you go, you must update us. Better yet, post an update from the actual site! Since Maia's great texags ghost expedition never panned out, this thread needs an actual ghost hunt.

I'm all for a ghost expedition. I would love to disprove ther exsistence. Demons are another thing. I don't want to mess with them.

It won't be any time soon, but I do have a lot of time off this coming summer...maybe I'll go then...if I remember.

Could someone explain to me what the supposed difference between a "ghost" and a "demon" is? How would you tell the difference?

By the way, I have a new quantum fluctuation holistic oscillating energy healing device that will keep evil spirits from entering a 10.8 meter radius. PM me if you would like to purchase.

Anymore stories? I don't personally have any. Both my parents had encounters with the Marfa lights though. Each unique and were witnessed with other people.

Ok I'll finally share my experience.....

Some quick background facts:
- Happened about 2 years ago
- I've never had anything like this happen before
- I didn't believe in "ghosts" before this happened
- It happened in a newer apartment here in Austin

I wanted to put those things out there beforehand because those are some of the reasons it's hard to explain what the heck happened.

On to the story.... I lived with my girlfriend at the time in a one bedroom apartment which had been built only a few ears earlier (usually these things happen in old mansions, woods, or Indian burial grounds, right?). We had been living together for about a year and things started to go south and we slowwwwwwlllyyyy broke up. But since we lived together it made the move out and everything a long drawn out process so we still were staying in the same bed and all. One night during break up period, I was woken up but didn't actually know I was awake yet at this point. In the doorway to our bedroom was a dark figure standing there that I could make out to be an elderly woman (the apartment never got to dark). I sat up and just stared for what seemed to be about 30 seconds. It was long enough to see that the woman was giving small shakes of her head in what seemed to be disappointment. I wasn't scared at this point because I thought I was dreaming. What happened next is when I realized it wasn't a dream. As I was staring at the lady in the doorway, our dog that slept on the bed with us wakes up and starts barking in uncontrollably (he was not a barker) and then the lady takes a step out of the doorway towards our living room. The dog jumps off the bed and runs out there still barking crazy. The gf wakes up and asks what's going on, and I just get up and he's out into the living room to turn on the lights and get the dog to shut up. As soon as I turn on the lights, there is no sign of any lady and our do had climbed up the back of one of our chairs and hopped onto our kitchen counter and was sitting there shaking scared (also a first at the time). I was speechless and the gf was asking what was wrong because I must have looked really scared/confused but I didn't tell her anything. We got the dog and went back into bed. I spent the rest of the night playing it over and over again in my head trying to figure out if I was crazy. I ended up telling the gf a week later what had happened that night and she froze and then continued to tell me she has been dreaming alot of her recently passed grandmother and she immediately came to the conclusion that it had to have been her. The weird little kicker to that is that we had gone to her grandmother's funeral together which was my first funeral (all my grandparents died when I was really young and in a different state). There were not many people that were able to make her grandmother's funeral and to make a long story short, I asked to be a pall-bearer. Anyways, I've come to the conclusion, this was definitely not a dream even though that seems though that seems like te easiest answer and to this day, I can relive the whole thing in my head quite clearly.

I have never seen a dark mass thankfully while fully awake. Not sure how I would react really.

I have never owned a dog personally but several cats and I have caught them acting really odd during certain events. I am a firm believer that animals can sense things that we cannot. So when I see an animal near me perk up and seem confused you'd better believe I'm paying attention too at that point.

I have a history of locked doors being opened and closed by themselves in several different locations. Last one was about a yr ago at my old apartment and probably the most baffling to me.

I was alone in my room with my door almost closed but not latched. Then I distinctly heard my front door open. It is a heavy door that can't be mistaken for anything else. I also know it opened because the changing air pressure closed my door all the way. Thinking it was my roommate at the time I got up and went out to the hallway to ask her a question. Before I had finished turning the knob on my own door, I heard the front door close. Literally within.5 secs I was in the hallway that looks toward the front door. It was closed but the miniblinds we had next to it were still shuffling a bit from something moving them. I thought it was odd but didn't think to much into it at first. Just assumed she went back to her car for something. I walk up to the front door and lo and behold it I can still see it is still locked.

At this point I know it has happened again. Just to make sure though I go up and pull on the door without turning the knob. Yep. Completely closed, latched and locked. No half closed door opening and shutting through the wind. I unlock and open it and look out. Nothing there. I call my roommate to see where she was and turns out she was running late from her parents and was still in Austin. No other doors or windows were open in the entire apt. I double checked. So there it is. Another door opening with proof from my own door closing(which it always did when you opened the front door) and ruffling miniblinds which I saw with my own eyes. Normally this wouldnt be bad but again...this is another example of a rather long history I have with things I can't explain.

On a sidenote I have noticed that these things seem to happen in waves. It will peak for weeks at a time and then nothing will happen for months...then stuff starts occurring again. And it affects the people I'm around as well. I had to to have a sit down with my SO and explain how things are around me when events starting happening to her. How do you tell someone that??? Last little oddity about the whole situation is I have never once felt threatened by it. I have jumped several times in my life but it's the usual startled reactions from bangs and crashes that quickly fades and leaves me wondering.

Caveat to that is several people around me have felt threatened by feelings and events. My roommate from that same apt. used to wake up in cold sweats and she felt that something was in the room and watching her. She said it always felt so.... malevolent. Alone in her room with no pets. She heard faint breathing a couple of times as well. All around the 2 am- 4 am time frame. It scared her bad.

I myself never got too worked up or scared while my experience was happening. Nor did I ever think someone had broken into our apartment. It wasn't until afterward that I got a little freaked out but during the whole thing I just felt like I was in trouble for something and being looked down upon

Interesting developent for me as I went through puberty into adulthood.

Growing up I believed in ghosts, and while I was never scared of them, I was always concerned they were around watching me masturbate.

Now that I'm older, I don't believe in ghost at all, but now I wish they were real and watching me masturbate.

Strange how that works.
