This has to be a troll. How can someone precede that story with "It's really not that scary"?!?!?!?

Ok I am going to start this off saying 1. I do not believe in ghost. 2. I do not think I actually SAW a ghost...this was just my experience.

I was driving to College Station (from Houston on 6) about two weeks ago after work so it was late, about 3, and no one was really on the road. I usually do stuff on my phone, text, facebook whatever...to pass the time and I speed.

Well I look up and I see a "ghost like figure" standing there looking at me on the side of the road. I looked back and it was still there. So I thought to myself "Haha that would be an awesome prank to stand on the side of the road at night all dressed up to freak people out." Then I started feeling really scared, like my stomach was turning, my heart dropped and I got chills. I slowed down, put my phone up and kept feeling like something was wrong. I then passed through two smoke balls on the road. This was when the fires were happening so I just assumed it was part of the fires but the were like puffs and not smoke trails. Then my radio did the emergency broadcast sound so I turned up the radio to hear the announcement but nothing was said and the songs played after a moment of silence. I was really creeped out the the point where I felt like crying.

So all this happened within like 30 secs of each other. And then I came upon a horrible accident. There were police cars, ambulances, firetrucks...and then I see an overturned car and other crushed cars. It was so scary, once I passed it the bad feelings left me and everything was fine. I took it as a hint to slow down, get off my phone and get to College Station safely.

Not as good as the other stories on here, but here's mine from a week ago:

2:00am: I woke up from a horrible nightmare. I usually just go back to sleep and ignore dreams/nightmares and return to sleep. This one really caused me to get up, check around the house.

2:15am: Checked around the house and sat in living room in silence. Muffled noise *meow*. After waiting a few minutes, I heard it from the same room as where I was sitting *MEOW*.


No cats were inside and I thought it was an interesting experience (not scary). We live in the country. We had a cat die a brutal death because it was attacked by a neighbor dog (broken back). While alive, it was brought into the house for comfort where the cat died. Family members have stated they heard similar noises, but this is one I caught in person.

KL, what was the name of the priest you called? I'm assuming he was local? Which Catholic church?

I really want to know the address...

Dean... I think his name was rev. Ortiz? The mother or my friend is the one who called, I'm not catholic, but as freaked out as I was she convinces me it needed to be done. I do remember his friends name... A female that he and my friends mom called chappy.

I really want to know too KL. That is extremely interesting, particularly since the priest told you to leave. Perhaps a demon of some sort?

Well most people i tell either look at me like I'm insane, or give me that little "haha, um, ok" chuckle.

It was absolutely terrifying for me, but everyone I know, including my husband is convinced there is a logical explanation.

I've been in houses where air in the water lines causes so much vibration that cabinets can open up, things on counters begin to move, and other physical things can happen. This can happen after you shut the water off, too. You said you were washing dishes... I'm not trying to discount your story, because you were obviously traumatized by the experience. I'm just saying, this could explain a lot of the behavior.

If it wouldn't have been for my husband's friends reaction, I'd have been perfectly fine convincing myself that everything is explainable.

But, As I said, this is why I don't like to talk about it. It just makes me sound crazy, and for those that don't think I'm crazy , they think I'm just an attention seeking liar.

I only wish that experience were something I just made up.

Why does your husband believe it's explainable if his friend told him he saw something strange?

When the phone was moving off the counter, was there any other noise going on? That, too me, is what I have the hardest time trying to grasp. If you saw your phone sliding off the edge of the counter with your own eyes. And you can't explain it, that seems significant.

My husband refuses to believe anything other than human life exists on earth (which is strange because he is Catholic). He explained away the cabinets opening and closing to the house settling and the boards just popping, which made it sound like the cabinets.

My phone is an iphone4... hadn't had it but maybe a week when that happened, so it had no case. So it is pretty slick. The only other sound was the sound of my Son's swing rocking. My Husband offered the explanation, that maybe when i grabbed it from the living room and placed it on the island my hands were wet, and it had a similar effect as a perspiring glass on a slick surface.

It seems somewhat logical... so I would accept an explanation for that.
Now, the movement of the crosses... there is no explanation, and that is what freaks me out the most.

Actually, the crosses moving seems to be the most discountable part of the story. I don't mean to say that you made it up, what I'm saying is that it is so "Hollywood." Even if you believe in the paranormal, you have to admit that there is a whole lot that is unknown. IF there are ghosts (or demons) we don't know how they behave; we don't know their motivations. We reference these things through what we know of them, and most of what we "know" comes from movies, books, etc. meant to scare or thrill. The crosses thing sounds like someone (a person) was trying to scare you.

You said the landlord let you out of your lease immediately. That seems more strange than the crosses moving to me. : )

My brother woke up one night to and saw one of his friends sitting at the end of the bed shaking his head. The next morning, my brother got a call telling him that friend died the night before in a car wreck.

Big D and Bubba on KNUE (a country station out of Tyler) recently had Rodney Atkins in studio doing a live performance (I think on Monday). Listen close just after the 1:40 mark. They swear no child was in the room or anywhere near by, and that the track has not been altered in any way. They were on-air freaking out about it this morning. Brought in a guy to enhance the sound and you can clearly hear a 3-4 year old boy saying something along the lines of "hahaha you're running out of time." Freaky. They are bringing on a paranormal hunter person from one of the TV shows to talk about it tomorrow.

Yea, by far the most disturbing part is KL's daughter mentioned numerous men, and her friend not mentioning whatever he saw. He must have seen something ridiculously bizarre and scary.

He probably saw that man with the cat just standing there, then he said OMG and ran to the room.

Regardless, I don't know how she can sleep at night. I would be disturbed for the rest of my life.

Wow! I cannot believe this thread is still around that I started.

My Dad passed away about a year and a half ago in my parents house. Some odd things have happened since. I am not scared to stay there but I believe he is there in spirit. It started at my place in Austin first. My fiancé and I were in bed with a candle burning and the lights off. No air conditioner going. All of a sudden we hear somebody blowing a big puff and the candle went out. Pitch black.

My fiancé one night was staying at my place while I was out of town and had her dig with her. She was sleeping and then her dog started growling and staring in a corner of the bedroom. She immediately turned the lights on and went home.

Back at my moms we have heard footsteps on the tile floor at night, a light came in in the middle of the night in a closet. While talking to my Mom one night a light in the hallway behind her dimmed really low for about 30 seconds.

This last weekend really freaked me out. My som who is 7 was taking a bath in my moms bathtub when he called me. I came in there and asked me to stay in there. He also asked me to close the closet door because he heard something in there and saw movement. I closed the door and got him out of the tub pronto to go to bed. That night it took me 2 hours to get him to sleep. My son is a very heavy sleeper and takes something big to wake him up. At 4 am he is standing by my bed saying he can not sleep. He said he felt the bed move like someone was sitting on it. I told him to go to sleep. I woke up 30 minutes later and saw his light was on. He was in the bed wide eyed. He said he saw something and heard his name. I will never tell my mom about any of my experiences because she would move out in a heartbeat. She always jokes about my dad haunting the place.

Thats weird how weird things started happening at your place as well.
