Can anyone here seriously say they have seen a ghost?

I've never seen a ghost or anything like that but here is a story for a bump.

About 10 years ago my mom contracted smokers cancer and had never smoked a cigarette in her life. She had half her tongue removed and replaced. She had one really bad night that the doctors thought she might not survive through. She ended up flat lining and was out for a full 45 seconds. Her heart miraculously started beating again and when she came to she said it felt like she had a dream. She said she had seen 6 or 7 of her dead relatives and tried to go to them but they told her to go back that it wasn't her time.

I'm glad they told her no.

Why not...

When I was seven years old my dad was in the AF and we lived in Guam. The houses there are all the same, with the exception of those of the higher ranking officers that lived on General's Hill. Anyway, the houses are cement due to the typhoons, and have very long hallways leading from the living room back to all of the bedrooms.

One night I was thirsty and decided to get a drink of water. I walked down the long hallway, got my drink of water, then started back to my bedroom. When I entered the hall, I looked at the end of the hallway and saw someone standing there. I guess it was how you would picture a ghost, kind of dimly lit, but the face was familiar to me. It was the face of my grandfather. He has recently died, but we were too poor to travel home to attend to the funeral. Anyway, I was scared enough not to go down the hall, but not scared enough to go back to sleep. I went back into the kitchen and slept on the kitchen floor the rest of the night.

On a side note, once in college I had a night terror. I felt some freaky presence in the room and I could not move or scream, no matter how hard I tried. All I could do was curl up and try to yell, but it did not happen. Scariest thing to ever happen to me.

I haven't read this thread so sorry if I am plagiarizing, but I wish this thread would die and not come back to haunt me on page 1 every time I open TexAgs.

That too. However, those typhoons could be really nasty.

Not really a scary story but like others have posted, when my grandpa died (I was about 12), he visited me multiple times in dreams and told me not to worry about him anymore and to stop being so sad. I was very close to him and one night about a week after the funeral, I had another dream where he told me he wasn't going to see me anymore and that this would be the last time he was going to say goodbye to me. I can't really describe the feeling that gives me. Not really scared, but it still kind of creeps me out.

I have also had sleep paralysis - numerous times actually and just now figured out what it really was. It would freak the crap out of me because I would wake up, start shaking very fast like I was very cold, be completely paralyzed and get this feeling come over me like something evil was in the room.

Legend in my dorm has it that a dude killed himself in the shower a few years back on the third floor, two doors down from the RA's dorm. And I heard the story last semester. Where do I live this semester? On the third floor, two doors down from the RA. And I hadn't even remembered the story till now. And now I'm freaked out.

There IS a parallel universe that we catch glimpses of on occasion.

After my brother and sister went off to college, I got the whole upstairs to myself. It was my room, my brothers room, and my sisters room upstairs. Well they were all empty and every so often at night, I would hear the stairs creaking as if someone was walking up. I'd be in the gameroom upstairs watching TV and hear the stairs and shout "who is it?" and no answer and no one would be coming up the stairs... but the stairs would creak as if someone were walking up the stairs

Now that always kind of got to me but I figured whatever old house, just noises

Well, one night I was in the gameroom and a phone started ringing from my brothers old EMPTY room. I was freaking out but I had to check. I walk in the room and see the phone laying on the night stand ringing.......

I walk over to the phone to pick it up and when I get there, I notice the phone isn't even plugged in! It rang one more time and then stopped for good.

I never go in that room at night again... and the stairs still creak

I hate going home for this very reason haha

The house stood on the outskirts of an old ghost town
I brushed aside the cobwebs, walked in and looked around
I found a dusty diary beside a worn out bed
Dated 1882 and this is what it said

This town has seven blacksmiths, twenty-five saloons
Thirty-seven churches, and two-hundred hotel rooms
More Longhorn Texas cattle than I have ever seen
And the finest little cathouse this side of New Orleans

In the House of Negotiable Affections
Every cowboy is as special as the next one
All the ladies are so lovely with their painted on complexions
At the House of Negotiable Affections

From Kansas down to Texas is a long and tiresome course
And a cowboy needs more comfort than sidekick and a horse
So he'll climb that spiral staircase to a dim lit little room
Where he'll touch those red silk stockings and smell that sweet perfume

In the House of Negotiable Affections
There's Kansans and Nebraskans and there's Texans
Lookin' up at the ceilin', laughin' at their own reflections
In the House of Negotiable Affections

I closed that dusty diary and laid it on the shelf
Then all at once the bedsprings started squeakin' by themselves
When I saw her ghostly figure, I nearly died of fright
She said for half a dollar you can stay with me all night

At the House of Negotiable Affections
She was wearin' nothin' but a pale complexion
I guess you might say I made a spiritual connection
At the House of Negotiable Affections

There's a few old cowboy bones, but mostly ghostly apparitions
In the House of Negotiable Affections

How long do you want to ignore this user?
While assigned to Fort Polk, I was leasing an apartment in Leesville with my wife. On night around 2 AM, my wife wakes me up and asks me if I see the person standing by the doorframe staring at us. I say I do. The individual was a man, about in his 50's, in farmer coveralls. After about 30 seconds, he turns and walks into the living room. I was up less then five seconds later, searched the apartment and found nothing.
Everything was secure and the incident never happened again.

Almost everyone I know from the Valley has some story or another about unidentified people wandering around in their houses or La Llorona. I don't believe in any of it, but still, you gotta humor those cute little Latina girls.

i dont know if there is a ghost legend about fowler hall, but there was a student that killed himself in the bathroom of his Appelet dorm room. I seem to recall that he was an RA. I remember that those were a sad few days around campus.

Man this thread is ridiculous. Did maia nyx and TH ever go back to that house behind the trailer park?!??!? A follow up report would make this thread all the more epic.
