Belgium is better but that was an F level pathetic showing all around. Completely shameful. Every goal conceded was amateur hour. That Freese goal was the worst conceded in the tournament.

Seattle crowd was taken out of game nearly immediately. Gave up a terrible goal in 8th minute. And looked confused and lifeless for first best stretch. Then you give up a stinker goal, immediately after tying it up.

Pulisic is soft. I understand the resume. But when was the last time that he was our best player on the night?

Tillman was good tonight. Everybody else was awful. Not because we lost, they were atrocious.

Poch has a job if I'm running things. The changes at halftime were effective. We were mostly controlling things in the second half. Then Freese has his moment of madness. Game was basically over at that point.

Watching the replays, I'm still confused at how unorganized and ineffective the US was in every facet of the game. Might be the worst game I've ever seen by the national team, and there have been some real stinkers.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

If we went out playing well and losing to a better team I'd be fine, but this was a mega choke once again by the USMNT.

You can't kick the ground as a goalie and give up a goal. You can't play that poorly on defense and be so unsure of what to do when it matters most.

There's still a lot of good we saw but also can see how glaringly behind we are in order to compete against the best.

The way the Mexicans played had a lot to do with that energy. The team didn't give the crowd much help.

Soccer is all Mexico has. They aren't particularly lighting the world on fire in basketball, football, or really even baseball

Poch's squads were shaky and not good for the past year + in friendlies and the two summer cups. Then, they magically looked good vs Senegal and Germany in the warm up games and in the group stage and Bosnia match. Got our hopes up but we were always susceptible defensively- that didn't change and it bit us with really bad mistakes today.

Poch will move on. Several of these players will be done with international soccer. Our youth systems and development for our federation is still a mess, IMO. But I hope a whole new generation is inspired to take on this sport.

the technical skill and tactical awareness in this sport requires a lifetime of development. Need athletes to stick with it earlier and longer

See I thought McKennie was terrible in the 1st half. His first touch constantly failed him and he and Dest have a staring contest on that 1st goal was awful. His job is to sit a little deeper and facilitate out thru the defense and he couldn't be trusted with the ball tonight.

No. We need fleets of defenders, midfielders, center backs and strikers who are world class.

One person means nothing in soccer. They can be neutered.
