I missed the beginning of the game but it looks like there was a possible penalty (not that it mattered) due to a handball? How did this incident compare to the penalty given in the group stage. If I recall that was a deflection where Merino had to chance to react.

This was a shot from a yard away, I would have been mad if it had been given the other way

don't think either incident should have been a PK but calling it against Real would have been significantly more harsh given the distance and arm position

Have watched the replay a few times. Still just stunned at what Declan did in the span of about 10 minutes. Those 2 balls were nothing short of amazing. The look on Mbappe's face is priceless.

Listened to Tom Canton's show today. It seems we have a few guys who have to be pretty careful in this next match vs RM - yellows could mean they don't play next round.

"Partey has now joined his three Arsenal teammates on two yellow cards in the competition so far and he himself is now a suspension risk. A caution for Rice, Timber, Martinelli or Partey in Madrid next Wednesday and they would miss the first leg of a Champions League semi-final tie if the Gunners do indeed go on to make the final four."

Yep, quite precarious for us given Real will be attacking us with all they have.

Lots of math I'm not going to do but the 5 teams behind us that conceivably can catch us all seem to play each other in the coming weeks. Makes it even more unlikely they all can catch us.

Other than securing Champions League, I really just don't want City to catch us. The media would be insufferable.

Edit: Chelsea catching us would be pretty annoying too.
