On Wednesday night at Reed Arena, Texas A&M basketball will debut new uniforms inspired by the Corps of Cadets.
On Monday, the 12th Man got its first look at the new threads.
When the Aggies play Ole Miss this week, they’ll don alternate jerseys that substitute Maroon & White for a light khaki set that is reminiscent of the “bravos” worn by cadets on campus.
Perhaps the most unique element is the waistband of the shorts, which is white and features a gold emblem that mimics the belts worn by upperclassmen in the Corps.
In the promotional photos, both Marcus Hill and Rashaun Agee are also upperclassmen, so it remains to be seen if the freshmen and sophomore hoopers will wear shorts with black waistbands.
The Corps’ TAMU shield appears on both hips with Maroon trim at the bottom of the shorts.
When it comes to the jersey, the same light khaki base features the traditional block Maroon “TEXAS A&M” font and numbers on the front and back. The player’s name is included on the back, whereas on baseball’s Corps uniforms player names were replaced by any one of Texas A&M University’s six core values.
Above the name plate is a small version of the Corps of Cadets “stack” appears.
Bucky McMillan’s squad becomes the second team to wear Corps-like jerseys in recent memory, joining Aggie baseball’s 2023 nod to the cadets.
The uniforms will make their debut on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT.
